The Buena Vista Museum of Natural History & Science is a Natural History Museum in Bakersfield, California. It is located in the Arts district, downtown. The museum focuses on three areas: Geology, Anthropology, and Paleontology.
This place is really cool. They have several stuffed African animals but also fossils found right near here at Shark Tooth Hill. I didn’t even know that was a thing. It is three levels but the third level is two different parts: one with stuffed North America mammals and the other with dinosaurs. The main floor has the fossils found locally, the stuffed African animals, and a very cool hands on iSandbox that can be manipulated to create different ecologies or play games. The downstairs is all stuff you can touch. We spent a few minutes there but it is more for toddlers through maybe 1st grade.
