Allegedly workers who were involved in a 2008 renovation reported numerous poltergeist/haunted activity including being touched, pushed and other sorts of mischief.

We didn't have any ghost contact but I was determined to hear something first hand so I asked everyone I came in contact with about their own experiences and everyone I asked had at least one personal story. The best was a housekeeper who was in one of the bathrooms and her water bottle flew across the room. Twice! And the second time the top flew off and water went everywhere. So that was cool. The ambiance is amazing and the cutest guys I've seen in a long time! This is my Bakersfield hotel from now on!
Oh- plus close to Dewars for ice cream and taffy and GREAT antique shopping in walking distance!

Very interesting hotel. I wasn't expecting to find something as chic as this in...Bakersfield. The staff was accommodating, the bed linens were comfortable, and the hotel restaurant had the best non-authentic Mexican food I've had in a long time! And they were pet friendly.
