There is a petting zoo full of goats, which are fun to feed. There are tons of tigers and primates. Peacocks roam free. This is a rescue zoo, which is probably why there is so many tigers (it's legal; to own them as pets in Texas, but many people neglect them) It is super kid friendly, there's even a little train that does rides. The Austin Zoo used to be kind of rundown, but in the last few years it has been fixed up nicely. As a child, I had/went to multiple birthday parties here. I loved it.
We had a great time! Staff was very friendly. Loved the set up, you can get so close to the animals. Parking lot was packed, thought it would be over crowded once we got in, but it was much bigger than I had expected, didn't feel crowded at all.
Small, and some of the animals were just hard to see or find. But the people were great, and feeding some of the animals was a lot of fun!
