Cathedral of Junk

An absolutely epic monument to creativity, independence and JUNK :) Call ahead to set up an appointment to visit (it's located in the guys back garden) and there is a donation of $10 for a wee tour..

Our friends thought we were crazy cause it is located in a regular neighborhood. Felt weird going to the door at first but once you go around back you know your in the right place. Kinda amazing the amount of junk! They request a donation at the end. Great photo ops!

Closed for January

This is absolutely worth it. It's a self-guided tour and you'll usually have a few others along with you if you visit on the weekend, but still call ahead! He's friendly and willing to talk about the site. It's mammoth and mind blowingly structurally sound. You'll wish you could tent up and treehouse for the night. It's inspiring. Best part? He's still adding to this site so it will forever change and if you send junk his way by mail you may see something you recognize! As I walked out and asked a question he'd probably heard a million times "is there some kind of structure under here?" he replied simply, "everything is everything." And now I think I worship him.

This is legitimately one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. Would drive several states out of my way to return. Honestly, all around a good time. Writing a review about it three years after I went so it’s even indelible.

As everyone is saying, call ahead for reservations. The place is super cool and I would go back to show others.

Bring some cash to donate, it's well worth it to support the man and project.

You can see part of it from the road, but in order to really see it, you must make an appointment. Disappointed because we’re on our way to the airport and thought we’d just waste a little time.
