The park could have been nice. It is right next to a nice river, the sites provide decent room for a campground in the city, you're surrounded by trees and it is well maintained.
But the clientele made us feel unsafe and leave early. There is a camping limit of I think 10 days or something, but it is clearly not enforced (we were there on two occasions two weeks apart and the same people where still there). You got tarp tents, violent fights, dogs running wild and super loud nightly "conversations".

If you don't mind all of that it's a great location close to Seattle airport (45 min in rush hour), Seattle in general (add 30 minutes) or as a starting point to explore the Olympic NP. It's definitely one of your cheapest options.

We stayed here twice, once for 7 nights and once for 3, about 2 months apart.

Their website says they have a 7 day limit, but in talking to the camp host that is only for the busy season, for the off season he said they allow longer stays though I don't remember how long. I wish I had known that because we enjoyed it there and would have liked to stay for 10 days the first time, but we made plans elsewhere because of the limit.

The RV park shares an entrance with a popular disc golf course that is at the park. During the day it gets busy, but at night the camp host herds all of the day users out and closes the gate (not locked so you can come and go as you please at night still). So while hectic during the day it is really quiet and calm at night.

There were some people there that you could tell where living in their tent there. Not sure how long they had been there but they were leaving the last day. They seemed polite and respectful and the camp host seem to know everyone and have a good handle on things so I definitely didn't get the sketchy feeling the previous poster did.

Being surrounded by the trees it was easy to forget that you were in the middle of a large metropolis. We prefer to avoid big cities, but when we do have to stay in them I hope we can find more places like this.

[Actual stay was 5/10/15]

4 nights, June 2017

You're basically staying in a dead grassy field with other campers, with the river a short walk away. There's tons of frisbee nets in the park, so watch yourself when you go for a hike! The white river is as gorgeous as ever, but some of the other campers are not so much. If we had other options we would've stayed elsewhere, but everywhere else was booked up unfortunately that weekend.

Pros
- Close to town & 1 hr from Seattle
- Long sites
- Camphost is very attentive, I always saw him patrol the campground and even the trails!
- Quiet at night

Cons
- Fellow campers are a bit sketchy
- Campground is not aesthetically pleasing as it's just a field of dead grass

Camp for five days during the hot week in Auburn. Temperatures were the high 90s during the day. At night it would cool off to the typical 58° to 60°. They sell firewood bundles for six dollars each. Frisbee golf course with free access right next to campground.
30 amp sites with water hookup. Dump station. Lots of road noise from dead end road the goes by campground, street racing, drug deals etc.

Quiet and clean. Right above the White River Trail good for a 2 mile walk or bike ride. Most sites are level right to left have slight slope front to back.

Stayed here for a night while visiting family in Tacoma. While it is very small and sites are fairly close together, each site had a picnic table and fire pit. Gate is locked at night for added security but make sure you don’t get locked out. Campground host was very friendly. Good place for launching into the cities. Note there is a train track in the area

Great little campground in the bustling city of Auburn. Sites are close together but big enough for large rigs. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit. No privacy in between sites but you’re not on top of each other. Well maintained but pass on the restroom. Nice walking trail on the river and a frisbee golf course. At night, it’s the most quiet campground I’ve ever been to. Electric and water hookups only but there is a dump station. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A bit expensive for what it is but cheaper than nearby RV parks.

I was hesitant to stay anywhere near Des Moines due to other camp site reviews until I stumbled onto this campground. I felt safe the entire time and even added a day to our stay. There is a great open area to walk the dogs under some lights around the picnic area. It is only about a 35 minute drive to Seattle! I would definitely stay here again.

The park was easy to find but it is located about 10 miles from I 5. There is pavement all the way including in the park. Signage is adequate. Check in was friendly but took an unexpected turn. We had booked our site prior to our arrival. We were allotted site 1. The telephone attended noted that it would be long enough to suit our needs. We were informed by the Camp Host that they had given away site 1 and we would have to search another one that would fit our rig. Just an FYI, we are not all that long. Our coach is a short 28 feet. At first, we didn’t think it would be that big of a deal until we discovered that the sites were still snow covered and not all that easy to see how long they were. Plus, we really didn’t like the idea of us doing their leg work. We are not familiar with the park. After a long drive, all we wanted to do was set up and sit back. We were told site 6 might be vacant and we should fit so we decided to just take it. After disconnecting our Jeep and backing into the site we thought it was NOT a long site. We were as far back as we thought we should go. Any further looked like we might be on dirt. We stayed where we were as we were not going to walk the park looking for a longer site. We just parked our towed on the street (with the approval of the host). This was not a good start to our stay. The next morning we found that site 6 would have been long enough. What we thought was dirt was just snow covered ice.

Our site, 06, was a back in that was just long enough for our Coach but not the Towed in it’s present condition.. Services (30 amp and water) were to the left side. We discovered the water was not available as the plumbing is not heated. This park is advertised as being year round. The lack of water should have been advertised and the price reduced for off season. Distancing is close and there is no vegetation barrier for privacy. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat but had severe slope to the front. When the coach was leveled the front wheels were off the ground. This makes for a high first step into the motor home. We did not use the washroom so can not comment on it;s condition.

We found this park to be a poorly operated urban RV park. Being advertised as year round, the roads and sites should have been plowed. No water available should have been advertised. The Camp Host should not be allowed to give away booked sites on a whim. We paid $35.00 per night and we feel we received very poor value. We will not be back.
