Auburn is beautiful and this park puts you right in the middle of everything. It is right in the center of town. There are a lot of long term RV’s parked here, but they are newer so there is not a dumpy feel. It does have a nice spa and pool. There are a ton of big rigs in here, but it is tight. We had to have our neighbor move his truck both on our arrival and departure. I suggest exiting the 80 freeway at Bell Rd, rather than going up Grass Valley Highway. I would also approach the park using Quarts Dr to Rock Creek, instead of taking highway 49/ Grass Valley and turning into Rock Creek as you will have better clearance from the brush. It is about 10 minutes to old Town and 10 minutes to Lake of the Pines.

We stayed at this park for nearly 9 months. The part itself is beautiful, as it’s an old KOA. There are lots of trees and the nicer spaces had grass. We were toward the back of the park, and it wasn’t unusal to see turkeys, jackalopes, foxes, and deer. There’s a small pond with a run-off creek that you can walk the dogs to.

Actually, that’s one of my few complaints about this park- no dog park. There’s a large area at the back of the parks for tent sites. We were there over three huge holidays for camping (Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day), and there were few tents ever. In my opinion, they should fence off part of this area so people can let their dogs off leash. They would have fewer barking dogs, that’s for sure.

My only other complaint was that there was a manager who was running the park 50/50 of the time, and he was less than cordial. He had terrible communication skills, and came across as a grumpy old man.

All in all, it was a great experience. There was a pool, hot tub, tennis court (installed just before we left), laundry room, entertainment room, and dog walk area (always on leash), playground for children, and dumpsters. It was quiet, close access to 80 and downtown Auburn. There were quite a few homeless people in the area, but never inside the park.

Well maintained and manicured private resort.
Nice dog walking areas with bags and trash can.
We had a premium back in site with 30amp/water only, picnic table and a fence giving us privacy from one neighbor. Surprising amount of road noise from our spot.
Central Dump for resort patrons without full-hookups, or $20 by credit card for public. They also sell propane, and have a small store.
Would stay here again, especially if I80 is backed up or the pass is closed due to snow.

Stayed one night and so glad we did! The park was meticulously kept with amenities one would hope for any RV Resort. We stayed in a creekside site, so it was $59, but the regular sites are $54. The pool and spa are gorgeous and very well kept. Beautiful grounds including a wonderful pond. The bathrooms are the best I’ve seen in any RV park. They are even wheelchair accessible! Would definitely stay again!!

This campground is pretty pricy for what you get and security is not the best. This is a “safe town,” but for the price I would have expected more attention. Nothing special. Dog poop all over is a problem, by the way. Hard pass. This campground should cost next to nothing, except the hook up costs. Amenities are a joke, for the price.

Managers are classic anti maskers. Their civil rights exceed those of others who are trying to stay healthy or, not get covid-19, again.
