The AuTrain River Cabin is nestled on a small hillside overlooking the river, the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the northwoods. Sleeps 6-8. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other room has bunk beds and one bathroom. Towels and linens are provided. The kitchen has full-sized appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking utensils. The family room has cable TV with a VCR and there is a large deck overlooking the river. Deck is complete with grill, picnic table, and deck chairs for enjoying the beauty of the river and the Hiawatha National Forest. Just a few steps takes you to the dock on the AuTrain River where you can fish or find excellent swimming with a sand bottomed beach. Fire pit by the water for roasting marshmallows or cooking hot dogs. A 15' boat with motor and a canoe comes with the cottage. Weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday. Open year-round. Sorry no pets.

We did 3 kayaks for family of 4. It was about an hour too long for my 7 year old son, but we really enjoyed. Great price too!

Only $26 for hours of fun! We rented kayaks. The river is very slow, clear, and shallow (6 inches-4ft) so we were able to get out several times to play in the water. There are occasional obstacles like fallen tree branches, but they kayaks were easy to navigate. The greenery lining the water is beautiful and provides great shade for most the the trip. It takes about 3 hours at a regular pace, but you can take as long as you want. There's a rope swing about half way down that was a blast to jump off of! I definitely recommend this activity!!
