Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on October 06, 2023This nice little park sits along side the spillway of a dam. There are numerous sites scattered along a loop. 20 amp electric boxes are numbered but otherwise there is little demarcation of sites. Vault toilets are set to be replaced with flush - opening by Memorial Day 2018.
We were early in the season so the grooming was rather scruffy. There is a Frisbee golf course. To the north is a regular course. Many locals come here to fish.

We stopped here intended to stay 1 night, but we were so pleased. It was on Thursday with the 4th of July coming up on Sunday, we didn't want to chance not finding a spot. So we were happy to just chill out and stay. The village of Stuart has a great 4th July rodeo, duck race, parade, stock car races. If you need to do laundry, take the drive to O'Neil. The laundry in Atkinson is kinda sad.
Mill Race campground has hot showers for free, there is a nice lake (no swimming). Fishing, walking. Very level, grass and gravel, shade trees.
40ft 5th wheel. Lots and lots of room around us

What a wonderful gem in the middle of Nebraska! We parked under the trees and listened to the wind after being on the road all day. Thank you to the City of Atkinson for this little treasure.

It’s a nice park, but the bathrooms/showers were locked up tight. Oh well, I guess.
