There are two loops. A loop has all water front sites, but are a little closer together. B loop is more in the woods, with only some sites having water views if you look just right through the trees.
There's a lock and dam that is part of the park, and you will hear noise from it. And the park is on an approach path for an airport, so there is some occasional noise.
Overall, it's a peaceful park that is well maintained... but not one we'd necessarily specifically route towards. But if we were in the area and needed a stop over, we certainly wouldn't hesitate.

We stopped here for the night on our way East toward Nashville with our 31' Airstream. Due to the time of year reservations were not required, though in peak seasons you can make reservations through ReserveAmerica (max 14 days).
What a beautiful, peaceful spot, right along the Arkansas river. The "A" loop was closed for the winter so we were on the B loop. Many of spots had views of the river while the rest were tucked further back in the woods.
Spots are large asphalt pads and each site has a metal picnic table on a cement pad, a fire ring with cooking grate and some sort of concrete bartop table thing. Some of the sites had 8 foot poles with a hook on the end of it, presumably for hanging things (fish caught from the river)?
The spot we stayed in, B6, was pretty uneven, both front to back and side to side. I should have known there was something "off" with the site as it was pretty much the only one available in the area by the river. Even with 4 inches of leveling blocks we were still un-even side-to-side.
Electric (30 and 50 amp) worked fine, water too. There was a port hold that looked like a sewer connection, but I didn't think this place had sewer hook ups so I'm not sure what that was.
The best thing about this park is the price: $10 a night! Can't beat that, especially for a site with hook ups AND on the water!

Stayed here in January 2019! They have 30/50 amp, and water hook ups. Loop B has lots of space between spots. Loop A is closer together but still nice and a little cheaper. Many of the sites are within a stones through of the water. The water hook ups are insulated for the winter which is great. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 9 nights in early March 2019 and had an enjoyable time. Our site, B11, was considered a prime site since it backed up to the Arkansas River, the shore of which was about 50 yards from the back of the campsite’s RV pad. You can save a buck or two per night by selecting an interior campsite that isn’t directly on the river.
The sites in the B-Loop are well treed and should provide ample shade when the leaves are out. The A-Loop is lightly treed and probably would not provide very much shade when the leaves are out.
About 4 other campsites were occupied during our visit in addition to 4 or 5 other campsites that appeared to be occupied by long term residents.
We were able to get our 25’ rig level on the pad without using any blocks, however a longer rig would probably need some blocking because the end or the pad nearest the road had a bit of an incline. Some of the interior B-Loop spots had severe slopes leading to a fairly small level pad, so I would be hesitant to put anything longer than 25-30’ on sites B18 or B20.
All sites except the Tent Only sites in the E Loop have water and 50-Amp electric hookups. All loops have one heated latrine building with flush toilets and the A and B Loops each have a heated shower facility with free push-button showers. The latrines and shower facilities were clean and well stocked during our visit.
This park has extensive mountain biking trails and we saw several locals in the park during daylight hours specifically to ride the trails.
There are playgrounds in both the A and B Loops.
There is a boat ramp in the A-Loop area allowing users to put their watercraft in the river above the damn.
The camp hosts and maintenance personnel were all very friendly and helpful.
We had solid cell signals from both Verizon and AT&T, with both providers delivering over 20 Mbps download speeds. More than ample bandwidth to conduct videoteleconferences and get some work done if you need to.
During our early-season visit we had the place mostly to ourselves, but the hosts say it gets very busy in the warmer months of the year, so be sure to get your reservations at the all-new Recreation.gov website well ahead of your planned visit.

We enjoyed a few days at this campground while exploring Fort Smith, Arkansas. The campsites were spacious and included a grill, fire ring, concrete picnic table and concrete prep table, all in excellent condition. Our site backed up to the lake.
COEs never disappoint and this one was no exception.

Only here 1 night but a great stop! Haven’t really explored the whole campground, but it’s located very close to Fort Smith, neat/clean, and quiet. I’m very happy with our experience here. Good cell service too.

After crossing Oklahoma on I40 East this is a Great place for some R&R. Many birds are in the area. Migrating Geese were visiting the park. On the other side of the stream there are horses in the field. Fish were jumping in the water. For November it was a warm evening. It's a good place to visit.

We were greeted with a smile. Went to our sight. Very nice site, in back of us was the water and plenty of room to walk around. We stayed Thanksgiving week, getting away from people and relaxing. Had a warm fire at night, except for one night, the tornado sirens were screaming and we headed to the rest rooms. The maintenance man and his wife came in, and we stayed about an half hour.
The week was cool, but we enjoyed the walks with our dog Lulu. We had to go to the other section of the campground for our showers. Plus there were lots of bicycle trails.
We had one of those digital “as seen on TV” antennas and picked up over 20 channels, so we enjoyed some football. This park was quiet, even though about 5 more campers came in. We camped in our Grand Design Imagine 2500 bunkhouse 30’. We would definitely camp here again. Plenty of room to turn, and back.
