“Cooking from scratch using locally sourced, fresh ingredients since 1992”
Not your typical campus bar, Red Hawk strives for something better. Since opening in 1992, Red Hawk has held high standards in food preparation and service; making everything from dressings and desserts to stocks and sauces in house from scratch; and with the addition of the specialty cocktail menu, Red Hawk now offers that same standard of quality in libation. Once a used bookstore, the warm atmosphere of 316 S State Street’s exposed brick and handcrafted cherry woodwork is the perfect place for a homemade meal away from home, cold pint of Michigan beer, or a premium cocktail with house-infused mixers. Being a small independent operation in a competitive market, Red Hawk aims to provide higher quality casual dining in a truly locally minded bar and grill. The owners, longtime Ann Arbor residents, actively support local wholesalers, retailers, and residents in all their ventures. In the spirit of independent local business, Red Hawk also supports community organizations like the Michigan Theater, University Musical Society, Food Gatherers, the Ark, as well as many other local non-profits.
