Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments

The Stearns Collection houses the largest collection of ancient and contemporary musical instruments associated with an institution of higher learning in North America--the University of Michigan. We provide exhibit, lecture, and performance opportunities that are free to the general public. With its beginnings as an anthropological collection, the Stearns Collection is a national treasure of instruments from nearly every country and culture.
