There are plenty of pull-throughs for easy in and out and our RV SUPER Sites are nestled in 26 acres of tall trees and lush ferns. We also have cozy, rustic 1 & 2 room cabins and a Coach House which has it's own bathroom and romantic fireplace for our Non-RVing guests. Pioneer Trails RV Resort is located at the gateway to Anacortes where you will find activities for the adventurer as well as the family. We are a great base camp for family drives. Travel to Deception Pass, where Fidalgo Island connects with Whidbey Island, or travel south to La Conner, which has been awarded the "Town That Best Captures The Northwest Spirit." See what the Skagit Valley's Tulip Festival in April is all about. For a break from outdoor activities, you can browse through Fidalgo Island and Anacortes' antique stores, art galleries, boutiques and book stores. Ask our staff about more fun things to do in our area or kick back here at the park and experience our own camping fun. Updated 9/3/2015.

We first stayed at Pioneer Trails in the summer of 2012. We returned in September of 2015 and were happy with the accommodations.

I was able to work on the wifi all week (once the power was restored). The staff is friendly and were quick to clean the grounds after the storm which caused a lot of branches to fall. There are garbage cans everywhere which is really convenient.

It was rainy while we were here so we tracked in pine needles and had to vacuum daily.

This is a really big park. I normally shy away from them. But it's well-managed. The staff is awesome. And there are trashcans every two sites that they empty religiously. There are also massive trees and there is a good amount of elbow room to move about with fire pits at each site. I liked it. I also liked its location -- midway between all the things you need to get to in the area while remaining peaceful and quiet. Fave places within distance: Deception State Park, Shrimp Shack, and the Ferries to the San Juans. Lastly, their wireless rocks.

We stayed here to visit the San Juan Islands and Deception Pass area. We originally intended to stay at Deception Pass State Park but due to rain, we needed something a little less tree-covered and good drainage. This RV park is huge with many seasonal/full timers. However, they put the seasonal folks on one side and leave the other side for short term guests. We stayed on the A loop and it was great. The B and C loop also look nice and reserved for short term guests. We visit Deception Pass, went to the San Juan Island and went whale watching with Island Adventures out of Anacortes. If you want to see whales on a state-of-the-art boat, this is your place, We had a blast!

We were looking for a private park where we could hook up and then leave our rig for a couple of days while we took the Jeep to Vancouver Island for a couple of days. For our needs, the rate of $55.25/night seemed steep, but it was convenient to the Anacortes ferry terminal and we could find cat care for our cats via Rover.com.
The site was plenty large for our 43' rig with room for our toad next to the rig. It was quite shady with big trees and, although neighbors were close, the trees between gave more of a private feel.
Since we were gone for much of our stay, we didn't see much of the campground, but our cat sitter told us that she had cared for dogs for other folks staying at this campground and that it was very nice to walk around and that the off-leash dog park was nice.
We had cellular service but I neglected to write down how many bars so cannot report on that. It was definitely acceptable on Verizon.
The ferry from Anacortes goes through the San Juan islands and the scenery is beautiful. Friends of ours took the ferry to Friday Harbor (walk-on passengers) just for the day - I think that would be a great trip.
Visit Snow Goose Produce for "immodest" ice cream cones!

OK campground for family campouts, soso for full-time RVers. We were in the trees, so satellite was a no-go, and no cable so unplugged we were. It’s a nice campground but spread out and only one bath/shower facility, as well as only one garbage location. Staff was friendly.

This park is clean and quiet for the most part. There are several Yapper dogs that get annoying.

There was a septic odor when the wind blew which was not good.

They do not allow tents, van campers and older trailers (I think 10+ years). It is not walking distance of anything which was a bummer. The Governor had all fun canceled so outdoor courts and playground was closed. Small but nice off leash dog park area.

Sites for all size combinations, pull in, back in, thru, some shady in trees, other open & good for solar option.

Rates vary due to options at sites. They have daily, weekly and long term.

They were able to fit us in last minute. Park is nestled in trees. Landscaped wider sites. It’s the nicest place we’ve stayed yet in the last 4 months! It’s close to Deception Pass, and that Annacortes Ferry. It’s quiet even though it isn’t far from US 20.

The sites are spaced out like a state park, and in between some sites are trees that have been there for a long time. The roadways were perfectly graveled, just immaculate. The bathrooms were clean.

We visited the dog park a couple times and didn't see anyone else there. It was clean as well. There's a $2/day pet fee.

In the park, I saw bald eagles hanging out and making a racket. The night lights are really bright and I had to cover up a window to sleep.

They list a 10 year rule for camper age, but we stayed without issue with our 2001.

It's close to Deception Pass and the Anacortes ferry, which we took to San Juan Island for the day.

It is quiet here. I mean QUIET, breathtakingly quiet, that is until the aircraft from Widby Island Naval Air Station fly over a few times each day and then it is search the sky time. I absolutely love it here.
