What a nice surprise! Pulling into the parking lot I had some doubts because the neighborhood is old and there are several other motels that are not as well cared for on the block. However, check in was easy, the hosts are friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. The Route 66 Inn was a great value and an unexpected gem.

Bonus: there’s a free limo service to the Big Texan Steak Ranch but we arrived too late to enjoy that service.

Appearances can be deceiving! While driving down Amarillo St., we were not happy about the motel location. Overall, This was a good place to sleep. After a 15 hour drive, the queen sized beds were truly comfortable. Our room was immaculately clean and presentable for an older motel. Would have rated a 4 star had it not been for the price and no exception made for much needed early check-in.
