Alvin RV Resort

From the initial call we found the staff to be extremely friendly here. The resort is clean and well taken care of. The restrooms and laundry facilities are very nice. Unfortunately during our stay the pool was closed for cleaning. This was a big disappointment as, other than the pool, the resort is not very kid friendly. They have quite a few rules prohibiting the use of various things i.e. scooters, roller blades, motorized bikes/scooters. The sites are quite small and there are no fire rings or picnic tables. It’s definitely more for long term renters but it fit our needs for a short weekend stay.

We had our camper here for five months while my husband was working in the Houston area. The resort is fairly new. The managers are incredibly friendly. They make you feel like family and try to organize activities for the residence on different holidays. There are not a lot of children here. There is a newly installed swingset. There’s also a new dog park which has two sections, one for bigger dogs, and one for smaller dogs. The resort is gated, and you need a code to get in. The staff works very hard at keeping the grounds clean, which had included trash, pick up twice a day. The laundry room is a decent size and is clean. The building with the four or five bath houses seems to be in need of some attention. There’s a strong mildew smell in that area of the building and some of the bathrooms seem to have rust issues. The pool is nice. Unfortunately it is closed a lot for mechanical issues. It’s a great place for a weekend or if you’re in the area visiting family. It is about a 40 minute drive to Surfside, and just as far to Galveston Island.
