GREAT stop!!! The gardens here were so much better than we expected! The walking paths through it were very well done. There were paved, gravel, and dirt trails with plants from different areas and climates. Our favorite sections were the Japanese Garden and the Fantasy Garden. The Japanese Garden was SO beautiful!!! And the Fantasy Garden was just neat and the kids had a blast going through it! Oh and the train! They had a large G-Scale train near the Fantasy Garden that was really neat! We planned an hour and a half here and ended up taking about two and a half instead, and that was with jogging through part of it because a storm was coming in! Totally worth it!
We had a very bad experience trying to visit this garden. There is nowhere to park an RV or motorhome. I finally moved a barrier fence and we parked in an empty area that said "No admittance." My husband is in a wheelchair but most of the paths were gravel or sand; there were only short distances of paved walkways that he could navigate. No wheelchair-assist buttons to open the doors of the exhibit buildings. A disappointing and frustrating experience in every way.
And what we did see of the garden was nothing impressive anyway.
Don't bother.
Wonderful botanical space in Albuquerque! You can explore many wonderful gardens both indoor and outdoor. The children’s garden was very well created and enjoyable for adults as well. It was ~$15 a person, which was really great. Great spot for couples or families, very nice facilities and friendly staff
