We are the oldest zoo in the southwest United States, and the smallest zoo to be Association of Zoo & Aquarium (AZA) Accredited, a prestigious distinction which indicates that the zoo has achieved rigorous standards for animal care, education, wildlife conservation and science.

They are a refuge zoo for the Mexican wolf. You could tell because he looked a little ragged. You can get pretty up close to the animals unlike a normal zoo. They have no large animals other than a bear. Peacocks walk around freely and they have fun things to do for the kids, playground and fun facts. Gift shop is really small. It was a great spot to stretch out but not get exhausted.
