Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on December 30, 2023Our enjoyment of this park was somewhat situational - we were driving all day and the places were going to stay didn't pan out...more driving...finally found this on freecampsites.net and it panned out well. We got there after dark so didn't actually stay in one of the campsites, but rather just parked in the small lot near the bathrooms and picnic shelter. Either way, it's dry camping...but from what we saw in the am, lovely setting, what appeared to be a "nice" neighborhood surrounding. Very quiet, good bathroom. If you stayed in one of the campsites however, the bathroom would have been a bit of a hike. This was very near Christmas and we go there late at night, so not sure if one could always get away with just parking in the lot like we did. It is a bit far off the highway, but a very easy, straight shot to get to.

Great place to tent camp.
We stayed 3 night's, which is the maximum allowed. We even got to watch some RC Airplanes because there's a RC Airport right at the entrance. Be aware that there are lots of ant's.

We enjoyed our one night stay at SeaBee park. We had a great view of the water, just wish it was a little warmer. There are bathroom facilities near the entrance along with a parking area. If you keep going you will find places to pull off the main road, a few of these are paved and could accommodate a larger rig. We are 28ft and had plenty of room to navigate. Several of the individual sites have there own picnic table and trash bin, which is a luxury at a free spot :). The area is patrolled by the US Marshals and feels safe with them around. I did read some unsettling reviews on freecampsites.net but decided to try it anyways. We are glad we did because it really is a beautiful park.

BEWARE! The entrance into the park has a dip that can cause a lot of damage to your rig. Nothing you need to worry about, just watch for it, and avoid. We didn't and broke a ton of dishes, laptops, etc. The park was quiet and nice... we would definitely come back again!

Large sites, but the ranger warned of illicit activity at night and recommended the nearby Johnson park.

We stayed at Seabee Park for one night, on our way from Austin to Caprock Canyons State Park. It worked well for a free overnight with no hookups. We arrived just before dusk on a Friday night, and I think we were the only people in the whole park. We have a 40-foot Class A and didn't have any issues navigating. There is a dip turning off the road into the park itself, so take it slow. Once in the park, there are a number of potholes to navigate. We took the park road all the way to the end, and parked with our front window facing the water. It was a pretty view at dusk and sunrise, with lots of Great Blue Herons and other water birds. When we left in the morning, fairly early, there were a number of trucks parked across from us. Seemed like they were fishing or kayaking. Driving out, we saw a number of other overnight campers who had come in after us. Besides the spot where we parked, there are turn-outs to the left coming in that look like picnic areas. We saw campers there, as well as on the grass by the water, on the right side coming in. I didn't feel any less safe camping there than I would at Walmart or a rest area. I can't remember exactly what our cell coverage was, but I know we used our AT&T to stream video and didn't notice any issues.

We will definitely stay here again when passing through the Abilene area. It was very quiet and no issues with traffic at night. There was one other camper when we arrived but they left before dark and we were on our own. We backed our 38' fiver into one of the picnic areas and it was perfect. We had strong Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile 4G LTE so connectivity was awesome. We would have stayed longer if there wasn't a 48 hour limit.

It was pretty quiet here. Up until 1am this seems to be a kids hang out place. They will come park and then leave. Did have a weird experience here when a vehicle pulled up behind my camper and turned their lights of and stayed there for a few mins then turned their brights on and left. I would come back itβs good for a one nighter.

I found the spot listed on another app as a city park but it had no real details so cross referenced it here on Campendium which did have a number of useful reviews.
This was just an overnight spot on our way to AZ so it being dry camping was NBD and free made it even better. I sent a quick email to the city and they said yes we could park overnight no problem actually up to 48 hours if we wanted.
I studied the location from satellite view and reading the reviews but still wanted to check things out first hand before selecting a site. When we arrived we parked in the lot by the bathrooms then walked to check out the other sites if nothing else to stretch our legs from the days drive.
A bunch of sites would have worked but were not that level and some had some mud/rain runoff issues that werenβt ideal. Also read here about possible fire ants so we decided on the spot in the parking lot near the bathrooms which was large, level and super quite. Also very easy in and out even for our 42β fifth wheel.
Over all perfect for a drive thru with no fuss.
In a nut shell, great free overnight site close to the I-20 for easy in and out and a quite night sleep.
