North Bridge Street, Henrietta, Texas
Leaving Henrietta Friday early afternoon and spending our first night in Raton. We plan on getting up early Saturday morning to head out.
The park’s famous red rocks formed millions of years ago due to upheavals in the earth’s surface and erosion. The rocks are conglomerates of red, pink, and white sandstones and limestone. Best view of Pike's Peak is from the visitor center balcony at Garden of the Gods.
2-3 hour round trip to drive 19 miles to the peak (so we probably won't for sake of time). But we should get great views from Garden of the Gods.
Cabin through Rocky Mountain Resorts: Lawn Lane A https://www.rockymtnresorts.com/accommodation/347093/
This haunted hotel is best known for its inspirational role in Stephen King’s novel, turned film, The Shining. It has been featured as one of America’s most haunted hotels and continues to still operate since it’s doors opened in 1909. You can’t help but hear Jack Nicholson eerily saying “heeeeeerrrrreeee’s Johnny!” when walking up to the Stanley.
