We've crossed the US several times - both in planes and cars. Every time we visit, we find new hidden gems, that we long for, when we're back home in Europe again. These are some of our favorite stops on our roadtrips, and we would love to revisit all of them some time again!
We had the best Las Vegas-experience one night, when we first visited the Wicked Spoon Buffet and then saw the Jersey Boys musical. I don't think we'll ever experience an buffet like this again! If you go, be sure to be VERY hungry and have enough time ;-) (Not quite on the I40, but definitely worth a stop in Las Vegas)
We weren't quite sure what to expect, when we booked a tour for the Lower Antelope Canyon. What we saw, when we went down the stairs, was like another planet. It's incredible to see what nature can do, and at some points it definitely felt like an experience out of this world. The colors and the shapes are amazing!
If you've seen Breaking Bad, you have to visit this place. The filming crew is said to have eaten here several times, so of course we had to visit to. The food was some of the best food we've had in the States. Burgers, chili cheese dogs, fries & shakes.
Every October hundreds of hot air balloons fill the sky in Albuquerque and make for a perfect photograph. It's for the early birds, since you'll have to get up before sunrise to enjoy the balloons taking of while the sun rises up behind the mountains.
Hungry for barbeque? Set your GPS for this cute place in Amarillo. A perfect stop on your Route 66 roadtrip through Texas. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere wonderful and the food amazing!
The perfect stops for your roadtrip on I40 through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. And it's not the typical Grand Canyon, Cadillac Ranch, Las Vegas Strip and White Sands National Monument.
