The Tremont House Hotel

Stayed here in September 2014 with my 11-month-old year old son. We had just completed a 2 week Texas road trip, just the two of us and wanted to stay somewhere swank on our last night before flying home. We booked this place for a Sunday and it was only $100! Let me tell you, this is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in!

LOCATION: It's located in the historic Strand part of Galveston so it's close to plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops, and just a few blocks from the Seawall and beaches, and the Pleasure Pier (but you should skip that cause it's expensive and super touristy).

ROOMS: The rooms were not very large, but incredibly comfortable. Some of the nicest pillows I've ever rested my head on, and the bed was massive. The furniture was perfect and the interior design was just awesome.

FOOD: The hotel offers room service til 10PM, I wish it was offered later, but that's okay. There's an onsite cafe which serves flatbreads and salads and paninis, I got a flatbread pizza with pork belly, blue cheese and arugula. It was amazing. I also ordered their Goat Cheese and Cranberry Spinach salad, also delicious.

DRINKS: The 1888 Toulouse Bar is located right in the lobby near the reception desk and the cafe. They have basically any cocktail you can imagine and a good selection of beers. I highly recommend getting a drink after settling into your room and relaxing on the couches near the bar. The natural light is perfect for chilling out.

OVERALL: A perfect night stay. Highly, highly recommend. And on weekends they have jazz in the lobby.
