Alsatian RV Resort is in a great location for enjoying the numerous activities available around San Antonio and Texas Hill Country. Situated just 30 minutes west of San Antonio and about 90 minutes from the center of Texas Hill Country, this campground is a great option for a home base. We stayed at Alsatian RV Resort for three nights in May 2020. Get more details at our blog post: https://ourepicfieldtrip.com/2020/06/06/alsatian-rv-resort-castroville-tx-campground-review/

Great RV Resort. Gated with an adjoining 18 hole golf course and a fantastic restaurant (Juliana’s) ... all can be accessed by golf cart.

We stayed here over Thanskgiving weekend. The spots are nicely paved and clean. The resort is nice but missing things that are important to us. There is no off-leash area for dogs in the park. The wi-fi was sketchy, and both Verizon and AT&T were barely usable for us. If we had stayed during workdays we would have had to move. If you like golf or want to be away from the city this is a nice place.

This is a relatively new gated park with lots of video cameras providing security. Staff is friendly and willing to help.
PRO: Quiet and peaceful. The clubhouse, pool and golf course are all beautiful. Sites are concrete paved and level. Laundry is clean and reasonably priced. The grounds are well kept and pets are welcome. Castroville has a Walmart for supplies.
CON: No fire pits, no playgrounds. It is rural Texas, - 30 minutes outside San Antonio - so the only trees anywhere were planted with purpose. Wifi at the park is not reliable.

We loved this gem outside of San Antonio. 30 mins from downtown and 30 from Sea World. All paved sites and really groomed grass around each site. Very well maintained! Can’t believe how reasonable it was for such a nice resort. First class pool and hot tub.

Wanting to visit San Antonio but also wanting someplace out of the 'big city
congestion. Very comfortable and clean park. Extremely long, level concrete pull-through. Good power & water. Wide paved roads. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Great surprise small intimate boutique RV Resort on a golf course and very quiet and safe. Some appear to be Winter Texans. Almost completely big rig friendly. Wider exit for departure would be helpful. Otherwise, perfect and would stay again. Don't let the road that leads you to the park off HWY 90 scare you. It will handle the larger rigs. Site is just past the Alsatian Golf Course. Powerful internet for streaming and a great staff.
We traveled to Alsatian in a 45' Motorhome with TOAD.

Paved sites offer plenty of room (and real grass!) between rigs, and while they don’t look level at first glance, only part of each site is on a slight incline, and there is plenty of space to park on the flat, even for rigs bigger than our 36-footer.
Great water pressure, Starlink worked well, and it was very quiet at night.
Staff was friendly and welcoming, and we saw hosts doing yard work and cleaning throughout our stay.
Only snag we had was that we arrived at about 12:50 pm, and staff was at lunch. Had to wait until 1pm so they could open the gate for us. Plan arrival for 1pm or after. Campers are given a key card (the kind you tap) to open the gate once they’re checked in.

This campground (CG)/RV resort has exceptional customer service. We were on a waitlist to add another day to our reservation. They proactively called us back about a month later to let us know they could accommodate another night’s stay. We followed the website instructions to come in so we could take a right turn into the RV Resort, which is a 1/4 mile from the golf course entrance. A very short rig could take a left turn. The gate was down so we called the number listed on the gate and we were let in for a very pleasant check-in. We were assigned pull-through site 406 with FHUs. There’s a slope off the front of the site, so I needed to center the rig on the level part of the cement pad. By doing this I needed 20’ of sewer hose to get from my rear black tank to the sewer. The CG was quiet with no kids running around as this is a 55+ CG. The guest internet was below average for a park this size, but we have Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. Most of the campers here were seasonal with license plates from CO, MN, and WI. Several of the campers we talked to didn’t golf and came here to get away from cold weather. We did not see any overnighters during our four-day stay but this CG is fairly far from the San Antonio area interstates. CG was well-kept with no junky sites. They have a laundry room, but a couple of machines were not working. The sites were decently spaced and very long. Many reviewers called the sites spacious. The sites were not as far apart or as large when compared to many of the State Parks or Corps of Engineers CGs we’ve stayed. Get pizza from Luigi's Italian Restaurant in nearby Castroville as it’s in the top 5 pizzas we’ve had as we traveled through all lower 48 states. We enjoyed our stay in February, including playing their challenging golf course, and would definitely return.
