We live close to Cherry Hill and drove past it every so often. We sold our home and lived here in our 30ft Class C for almost 90 days (9/14-12/14) while our new home was being built. We were so impressed with the campground and sorry we hadn't visited before (but my grandkids want to go back!) This is a large park, with various sections which offer different types of surroundings. In general, sites are not huge, but big enough and have a picnic table with gravel pad and some with nice trees, others sunnier. There are some large pull throughs. The bathhouses are large and clean. Ample trash cans all around. There are two pools, a cafe, an outdoor movie theater, very small gym area, nice mini golf, a camp store, a dog run, a walking trail around the park perimeter, park models & cabins, and a conference center (home to wedding receptions during the time we were there), One pool was open as long as the weather was 70 degrees- into October- with lifeguard. The landscaping is very nice with planted annuals. And this coming season, a new conference area will be open with a water park with fountains and sprays for the kiddies. The camp hosts scouting groups in several areas. Now, the best part of this campground is that it is very close to Washington DC and we saw license plates from all over the US and some outside. Many retirees and full timers during the fall were visiting a few days and taking advantage of the tours RUN RIGHT FROM THE CAMPGROUND into DC- or the bus service to the metro station, or the bus just dropping you off in DC. Not many places you can enjoy this! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even though there is one negative and you must be aware of it: the park sits right next to the Washington DC Beltway, Interstate 495, and the noise is VERY loud. With the air conditioner on or using some white noise in our sleeping quarters, it was acceptable. But each morning at 5am as the traffic ramped up, it woke me up. Now, I needed to get up at that time to get to work, but as a vacationer... not sure it would be the best. The park is open year round and offers heated water bibs in some areas. We did freeze up one day and the worker was around soon to thaw us out. Our cell phone coverage was excellent. We watched cable and over the air TV- but didn't get some of the big sports games- had to go into the lounge in the conference center. Our internet connection was slow until about Nov. 1. Then the speed picked up considerably when the park thinned out. Not sure how it would be in the summer high season. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby, and also University of Maryland. You can't beat the location!

While this is not our type of campground, when visiting DC this is the place to stay. Facilities are absolutely superb, staff is super friendly and helpful. The sites are great for being where they are, in the middle of a city.
You can get to DC from this campground in less than an hour by train or bus making it a great location to stay. We have also stayed here while traveling up and down the east coast as it is pretty convenient from I-95.
As is my experience with just about every other campground, the wifi here leaves a lot to be desired.

This is a very large RV park, with many amenities for guests (pool, hiking trail, hay wagon rides, conference center, etc.). It's a very nice park in a great location (closest RV park to DC), but the spaces are very close together. Our driver's side slide-outs were just a couple feet away from overhanging our neighbor's picnic table. We saw everything there from tents to Prevosts. The free Wi-Fi worked reasonably well during the day when everyone was out sightseeing, but was unusable during evenings. The walking trail around the perimeter of the park was great for us and our dogs but we picked up a lot of ticks, so be careful. We stayed for a week and would consider staying again if the price were a bit better, but at this price, we'll stay further away from the city next time at a park with bigger sites and lower rates. We visited in June 2014 when the rate was $63/night ($57 with Good Sam).

This park is huge. There aren't many other options this close to the city for visiting Washington DC. Our rate had a 10% discount for AAA, otherwise it would have been $68, no discount for 7 days. The sites are close together but luckily we didn't have anyone on either side of us. We didn't use any of the other facilities, so can't make any comments. We were able to buy a transit card onsite and we drove to the train station which can take 20 mins and went into the city by train which takes about half an hour. The sites are gravel with a bit of grass. The WiFi is excellent so you don't need to use your own. They are very helpful at reception and give you maps and you can attend an information session each day at 4pm but we never did. I have no complaints other than the price.

We stayed here to be close to D.C. and easy access to the Metro. The resort is enormous and situated like every other rv park with close spaces that are mostly back-in sites. We lucked out and got an end site, and didn't have neighbors on one side.
There are numerous activities to do such as mini golf, a water park, two pools, a hiking trail around the perimeter, and a hot tub that we took full advantage of.
Getting into DC ended up much easier than we even expected. A bus stops right in the resort and takes you to the metro, that goes into the heart of the city. We drove to the Metro station which was only 15 minutes away.
This was the perfect place to stay for easy access to all of the DC attractions.

This park is super convenient for visiting DC. We were able to drive just a few minutes to the College Park Metro station and have an easy ride into the city on several days. This park is very large, gated, set back in it's own area and feels very safe. We will come back when visiting DC again for those reasons. I will say though that we were in the back row and the freeway noise was crazy...perhaps because the park is so quiet this time of year that there are no other noises?...all I know is that the first night I could not sleep due to the shock of the highway noise, and every night after I woke up multiple times listening to it. The park is very large and well maintained. The bathrooms and laundry were both very clean and both were very large. They offer many different activities, but nothing happens in the off season. The wifi was ok for the most part. When I asked the office about water pressure at check-in, I was told that they do recommend a water-pressure regulator, so we put ours on. With it on, the pressure was lousy. If we do come back, I will insist on a site in the middle of the park, as this location is directly between a busy road and the 95 freeway. Also, there are ponds along the back of the park and we were surprised to find crazy mosquitos when we arrived, due to the temporary heat wave that we had last weekend....on October 30th!

Cherry Hill Park is an enormous campground with great access to Washington D.C.. We're used to having to pay a premium rate when camping near a city, however, we were both pretty surprised that the campground puts an additional $50 hold on our card in case we wanted to eat in the cafe or spend it in the camp store. RV parks are not hotels, there isn't a risk of my taking anything from my campsite, so I feel that this is unjustified and a bad practice.
We stayed in a standard back in site for $70. In my opinion, the premium sites are not worth the additional money. When we saw them, we were happy with our choice to go with a standard site.
We had family join us during our stay. They rented a 2 bedroom queen bed cabin which looked pretty new and had a nicely appointed kitchen. They said the beds weren't very comfortable.
I didn't eat at the cafe, but our family really enjoyed the breakfasts.

About 14 miles out side of DC this campground is about as close as you can camp to our nation's capital. This is a large well maintained campground. Spaces are a little small in width but plenty long. Sites are level and covered in a fine pebble.
Unfortunately our site wasn't prepped before we arrived, the table was covered in some kind of black sticky substance and the fire pit had charcoals all over the grate. Normally I wouldn't complain about such trivial things but at $73 a night it should have been prepped.
They have a very nice laundry facility. Also a cafe, video games, TV lounge, showers, hot tub and sauna. Our kids enjoyed the playground and they have an adult workout playground.
The internet was good and included in the cost. Verizon was great, 20mg down and 15 mg up.
We were able to visit DC twice during our three day stay. We drove in and paid for parking. Cherry Hill RV Park offers many ways to see DC including a shuttle that picks you up at the front entrance.
We were happy with our stay. We gave it four stars instead of 5 because you can hear traffic on the highway constantly, night and day, as I mentioned the site wasn't prepped and they charge $5 per day for the kids. I am fine with a kid tax when the kids are provided some sort of special amenity, indoor pool, craft activity, something but being off season there wasn't anything going on at the campground.

I am so glad we stayed here for our visit to DC. This park is awesome! We loved our site (806) which backed up to the playground which our kids enjoyed. Check-in was quick and easy and the lady checking me in was friendly and helpful. We attended the class they offer on visiting DC which was so informative and I'm so glad we did that. We were able to purchase our metro cards at that sightseeing session and she answered all of our questions about getting around DC. We really appreciated not having to drive anywhere, but just getting on the bus at the RV park which took us to the Metro station. It was so easy thanks to the sightseeing session we attended where she explained all that. We also enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings after walking so much during the day around DC. I appreciated being able to have a package delivered there too. Verizon and AT&T worked very well. I can't say enough good things about this park. It is pricey, but for us it was the best option for visiting DC. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to the area. Oh, and I wish we would have had time for the evening tour of DC that the park offers. We'll definitely have to try that next time.

Great facilities, great campground. Would be great for a family reunion. Good location, with lots to do around College Park. Great facility for taking bus and metro to DC. A bit pricey. The biggest thing we experienced, that we never have before, was a cardinal pecking on our RV from just before sunrise, to well into early afternoon. It was annoying, and the bird left marks on our RV. Free wifi stunk.
