We camped here for many years and this year we decided to call it quits with this campground. The roads are all dirt so you had dust constantly, people driving their golf carts kicking up dust was horrible. Other camper were not friendly. The straw that broke the camels back was when they upgraded computer systems. We book our sites a year in advance. Oneday something told me to call and check one of our reservations - glad I did because the computer bumped us to another site that we did not want and they would not fix it because someone booked “our” site for a week and they couldn’t move them. Our reservation was made a year in advance mind you and they wouldn’t give us our deposit back when I ended up canceling I had to forfeit some of the deposit. That left a sour taste in our mouth and I am not sure if we’ll go back there.

Pulled up to gate to check out, and a woman was working out of her car. She had a basket of maybe 10 check-in packets.
As she hands me our packet, she nonchalantly mentions there is NO POWER in the park (It had stormed the night previously).
I ask if we will be pro-rated, given we paid for a full hookup site. “Nope. It’s not our fault.” (I understand this, but the utility company is pro-rating them. So they want me to pay for electricity I won’t get, and that they won’t pay for).
Against my better judgement, I proceed to our site (134). The site was a sliver of a spot, wedged between what looked to be two seasonal spots. There was maybe enough room to extend my slides, but that’s it. Nowhere to sit outside. I didn’t see a fire pit, but I did see the dog feces and liter left by the last campers.
It was over 80 degrees outside, meaning inside the camper would be in the 90s. We had two puppies and a fridge full of food. Since we don’t live too far away, we considered coming back the next day hoping maybe the power would be back on.
I drive back to the gate, and ask the woman if she could notify us if/when power came back. She tells me best she can do is post to Facebook. I walk back to my truck, but I decide I’m not going to enjoy myself here, even if power came back. The lack of even a semblance of customer service also turned me off.
I return to the gate and tell the woman we won’t be back, and want to cancel she says we will have to pay for the night. I tell her that’s unacceptable, given no one even tried to inform us of the power issue. She claims she can’t call everyone (remember, there were maybe 10 reservations). I tell her she CAN post to Facebook or the website. She says “That’s true.”
This place looked trashy, and apparently the owners and employees have given up I will NEVER even consider this place again.
We were refunded all but a $17.00 fee. I hope the owner uses that $17.00 well.

We were a bit worried after reading the reviews here. But once we got here we found a very lovely and large campground. Lots of spaces with trees, a wonderful park and trails. Only downside is we are here Halloween weekend and the large cabin next to us is full of kids and crowd of 20+ and noisy. Person at office was super nice too.

The pull-through sites 308-316 are designated "Deluxe" 50-amp full hookups. "Deluxe" they are NOT. Too close to each other and most are not level. Gravel pad and some wood framing around gravel for patio. If/when we stay here again we will request either pull-throughs 166-273 (better "Deluxe") or back-ins 132-142 all 50-amp full HU'a. CG has a lot of options for RV's & Tent campers in addition to cabins. Good hiking trails around in addition to the driveways. Lots of activities for kids with playgrounds, open field, & 2 pools, one for adults. Bathhouses & restrooms were ok, but could use an upgrade in the stalls. Entrance is arm gated with card access, exit is automatic. Large pavilion & group activity buildings. We looked at several CG's in the area and this one seems to be the largest and best for all around use. Eby's is close to shopping & touristy areas such as Shipshewana, Elhart, Bristol; the RV Museum is in Elhart and not to miss; and if visiting your camper or RV manufacturer this is a good location. We didn't stay at our camper as we toured all over including the Grand Design factory.
