The rate we paid is less the PA discount (50pct) with 5.00 x 2 for the two kids over 5. I believe the rate is 35.00 + 5.00 / child over 5. Whatever the rate it's a bargain because we are very happy to have found this place. It is safe, kid friendly, pet friendly, friendly staff and not full of permanent residents. BTW, not judging a permanent resident, just saying we are not going to meet other travelling families unless we stay in a place with other travelling families. This place appears to be almost entirely guests. It is May 6th so we are 8 days before the season opens and the staff assures us this place gets very busy.

The pluses (too many to list I'll highlight):
- The whole site is well protected from outside traffic and has a feel of a completely enclosed community. The speed limit is 7mph and closely monitored. Slow is good when you have little kids and pets.
- Quiet and serine setting. River along one side and the west end is a trail to the beach. The 101 is right there but really we can't hear the traffic. The occasional trucker goes by and even that is not very loud. We are in a site right by the blue building that is the bath/shower building.
- Easy access to the beach and the whole site is a nice place to walk around. It's beautiful here. Really super well kept and clean. Stations for picking up after your pet all around and everyone is very considerate.
- The other guests are very quiet and friendly.
- The front desk staff is very helpful and nice. Also up front there are DVDs to borrow, and a few of the necessities if you need something to get you hooked up.

The cons:
- Maybe the fact they charge for kids is a bit irritating. I mean to have a two person limit then charge for small children is a minus. I don't understand that as it's not like they are giving away free dinners or consumable things. My advice is bump it up to 4. A family of 4 or 4 adults then extra when you get a big crowd. Like a dinner. A party of 4 would not necessitate adding a flat tip or any great challenge for them. A party of 8 or more yes.

Resort? No this is a campground!

Our experience in this park has not been a pleasant one. The advertising and online photos would lead you to believe this is a very high-end resort. It is not, it is nothing more than a campground. The facilities are not well-maintained and dirty.

We ended up in a poor site near the front of the park. We had all of the dust and noise of the crowds leaving and entering park

On top of that we ended up with bad neighbors. They kept the fire going 24 hours and the word loud into the late evening. The fire ring is only 10 feet from our bedroom window, keeping our rig full of smoke. One evening we went out and I was there fl they kept the fire going 24 hours and the word loud into the late evening. The fire ring is only 10 feet from our bedroom window, keeping our rig full of smoke. One night we doused their fire at 3:30 am after they went to bed.

We would consider coming back here again, but only in the off-season and only if we paid the Passport America rate. The park simply is not worth what they’re charging for the peak season.

We had a group stay here this past week. We had RV spots 29, 28 and 27 and a cabin (I forget the #). I had spot 29.

The RV sites were ones that backed up to the hillside. Because of that, they were very lovely spots! But I'm not sure I would have liked staying in any of the inner spots (close together, etc.).

We lucked out with the weather and we had the sun all week (only one day with early morning fog). The highlight of my trip were beachwalks with my dog both in the morning and for sunset. And hanging with my friends, of course.

The power, water, dump on my site worked perfectly. I tried the cable (TV) one day and it wasn't great but never actually watched TV during my time. I also didn't bother with their internet but it was working for my friends.

In terms of noise, even thought the place was FULL, it was quiet... we all figured it is because of COVID-19, mostly families traveling at this point. Re: the road, yes you can hear it but it is not as loud as you would think because it is higher than the park. And there is not much, if any, traffic in the middle of the night.

I did use their bathrooms (includes a shower which I used) and laundry. All of these worked perfectly and were clean.

In regards to the cabin, my friends were disappointed with the lack of cutting board and good knives. There seems to be quite a variance in cabins (sizes) so be sure to discuss on the phone when making a reservation.

We stopped in for two nights and fell In love. The beach is close and awesome, the camp host was very friendly. The Mexican restaurant next to the office was fun. Employees very nice. Small Brewery near by and another restaurant.

We stayed two nights at Turtle Rock RV "Resort" in December, 2020 because we could use our Passport America discount (50%) which made it less expensive than a State Park. It's located just south of the town of Gold Beach, on Hunter Creek and across Highway 101 from the ocean.

Like many so called RV resorts, this is really a small RV park. There are some sites with private hot tubs, but there is nothing else about it that qualifies as a resort. The sites are thin gravel with much grass growing through, which is common in the Pacific northwest. Our site was level and did not require any leveling blocks. Most of the roads are gravel and mud, with plenty of potholes.

On the plus side, there are views of the creek from some sites, but the highway blocks any real view of the Pacific. It's probably much nicer in the summer, but your expectations should be informed if you plan to come in wetter seasons.

Connectivity:
Verizon - 6 Mbps down, 14 Mbps up (phone)
AT&T - 18 Mbps down, 11 Mbps up (router with roof mounted antennas)

We stayed up the road at Indian Creek RV park. It is basically a fish camp for people with boats. Close and tucked together. $35 a night. We moved to turtle rock because it is much nicer. However at $75 a night the $40 difference was not in any way justified. It’s nice. But not $75 nice. Won’t return.

We stayed at site 3, backing to the so called tide pool, it’s more an overflow pool of hunter creek, looks nice. The site is huge, you don’t hear much traffic noise from 101. Staff is very nice. Restaurant was fine as well. We used the opportunity to rent electric bikes, which was very convenient. Laundry room causes a little minus 2 washing machines were working with warm water, the 2 others cold water only.

Our impression of the park that we got from their website, and what it actually is were quite different. It's a "resort" so I expected a bit more for my $53. We had a back in spot that we barely got into. This place is not very big rig friendly. The back of the site dropped off about 10 feet to Hunter Creek. We had a fire pit and a picnic table. There is a trail under the bridge to get to the beach. We had some drinks and dinner right across the street at a little pub. Some of the sites have decks and spas which would be nice but none of those were available. If you have a site in the back of the park, it will be noisy with traffic on the 101. Overall, I don't think it was worth the price.

Given the proximity to 101 and the wind forcasted, I expected the night to be noisy. Not so much. The campground is set down from the highway and there is a hill to the south blocking the wind. Given that, I think the park is a zoo in the summer and quite noisy.

Beach access is great. A short trail from the campground under the Hunters Creek bridge puts you right on the beach.
The staff was helpful and very polite.

The downside was that the sewer hookup was not reachable by my hose while my trailer was hooked up to the truck and I didn't want to make the effort to unhook since I was planning on leaving in the morning.
