Natural Wonder

Our Take

Garden of the Gods is one of those places that is otherworldly. You're driving through a normal residential area of Colorado Springs when you suddenly begin to catch sight of these massive red rock formations rising above the houses. The park itself is a great place to drive through but it’s worth it to stop for a hike in this unique landscape. It’s especially magical at sunset. Plus, it’s free to visit.

“a magical stop”

Explore Colorado Springs' paradise in one magical stop. Garden of the Gods Park is a registered National Natural Landmark. Imagine dramatic views, 300' towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies. This world class Visitor & Nature Center is the most visited attraction in the region with a NEW, exciting, 14 minute, HD show: "How Did Those Red Rocks Get There?”. Delight in one of Colorado's most photographed views while eating in our glassed in cafe or from our terrace overlooking Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. Where else can you eat inside a postcard?

Really enjoyed this park. Will take about an hour. You can expand this by doing more of the trails and shorten this time if you just drive through it. But I recommend doing it. The travel center was really nice too and souvenirs are reasonably priced.

I stop by here EVERYTIME I come to visit Colorado.
Visited last year during winter, and this year during summer.
Probably again this winter.

Why? Because its beautiful, free, and a great place to enjoy nature.
They weren't kidding when they named it "Garden of the Gods."
Pictures doesn't do it justice. Come see it in person.
You will see lot of people strolling around here with their families and friends.
Others come here to rock climb.
Great place to explore and do some soul-searching.
Don't miss the famous kissing camel and the balancing rock.

I fall in love with place over and over again.

FREE with gorgeous views! Bring a camera for "Christmas Card" and Ansel Adam inspired shots! The one downfall: the maps and directions did not seem to match up within the park.

Its a great place to stop and take a break if you need out of the car! It is about 15 minutes out of the way from I-25. Weekends and holidays it can be very busy.

Super beautiful.. Especially if you get there before the mountain blocks all of the sun. You should definitely check it out if you're in Colorado Springs but if you've seen it once there's not really a reason to return.

This is a must see! This amazing natural wonder can be viewed by car or by foot, so there is something for everyone. The visitor center is very nice with a balcony overlooking the main formations at the entrance to the park. This is a great place to start if you have never been to Garden of the Gods. The gift shop is also fun to browse. If you are short on time, a nice drive thru the park is well worth it. Otherwise you can park your car and explore on foot or by bicycle. Bring your camera! We will return again when we have a bit more time to explore.
