“stay near some of America's best fly fishing rivers”
Adjacent to our 77-space park are numerous casinos; a major horserace track; some of America's best fly fishing rivers and lakes; award winning public golf courses; many Native American archeological sites; several U.S. and State parks and recreational areas; and of course, winter-time skiing only 45 minutes away in Durango, Colorado. The historic Silverton Railroad providing daily tours is near Durango. Local colleges and social groups provide a variety of cultural events year round, and excellent culinary opportunities are available in Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield and Durango.

Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on October 23, 2023We were unable to stay here b/c of inevitable plan changes. But, my experience (and review) is solely based on the woman that helped me each of 4 times (again, changes in our route). She was very nice and didn't make me feel like a nuisance, which is very much appreciated. :)
If you appreciate nice people that are accommodating and understanding, consider Moore's.

We gravitate toward state and county parks but this is a real gem. Quiet and lovely landscaping—I am writing this beneath a large silver maple just over our picnic table. Almost every spot has one. It is a great location for all our rockhounding and outdoor exploring but close to groceries and all that stuff. Staff and the locals that live here couldn’t be nicer.

This is a comfortable FHU campground with shade, a feature rare-enough in New Mexico. The town of Bloomfield is a poor community, so first impressions are off-putting. But after spending 2 nights at this park and visiting Navajo Lake to kayak, our visit and this campground “grew on us”. We had a level gravel campsite, with a shabby wooden picnic table and fire ring. Our site backed to a mobile home neighborhood. The bathhouse was clean and spacious, if dated. There was a pool up front near the office, although we didn’t use it. For a rig our size (27’ trailer) this is a vastly better option than Navajo State Park which had tiny spaces and tight curves within Pine CG (the lakeside option). But the lake and marina are terrific - twenty miles away. You will find few if any dining options In Bloomfield so plan accordingly.

Stayed here beginning of Oct 2023.
Pull-through 50 amp FHU all gravel (nicely compacted). Site #44 end spot just behind the office).
THE GOOD:
Staff: Accommodating and nice to deal with every time I have called and at check-in.
Sites: Well maintained and generally level but bare bones (no grass or anything to enjoy camping outside).
Location: Located off of a quiet road outside of town. 5 min to gas, groceries, etc. 15 min to Farmington where more of the bigger stores are if you need them (Target, Walmart, etc). 5 min to Salmon Ruins Museum. 30 min to Aztec Ruins. 1hr 20 min to Chaco Culture National Historical Park.
THE BAD:
Nothing of note.
WORTH NOTING (not good or terrible)
Restrooms/showers: They could use updating for sure. The staff keeps it as clean as they can but overall the showers are just old. A bit tight too. The shower floor was so concave that it was like standing on a large low bowl.

We’re very happy here. The place is very familiar and the owner familiy very friendly. They have full hook up, free wifi, free hot showers, a dog park, swimming pool and laundryroom was closed because of the minus degrees.
They take very care for the campground and it’s very clean on the restrooms but also everywhere.
You have on every hook up place also an picking table and a BBQ.

We were blowing through NW New Mexico on our way to Texas and needed a place to break up the miles. I submitted a reservation request via their website but never heard back; so I called the day of our arrival and spoke to a very helpful woman name Cheryl. She processed my booking over the phone, gave me a choice of spots (we chose one closest to the showers) and then left my receipt and map in an envelope outside the office because we were planning to arrive after hours.
The overnight low temps were forecasted to drop down to 20F which Cheryl wisely advised us to avoid connecting our water hose. 30amp Electricity and Wi-Fi worked great. We ran a 1500watt space heater and baked dinner in our convection oven all with no trouble. My husband, who is a connoisseur of Wi-Fi, said this was some of the best service he’s experienced. He was able to stream YouTube videos without any interruptions. In the morning, we used the camp showers. They’re dated but very clean and hot. $36/nightly rate includes Good Sam discount and taxes. We would definitely stay here again. They even have a nice little off-leash pet area!

This campground is nice. Well kept. Hosts are welcoming. Campground is clean. WiFi service at our site was spotty though. The Navajo Dam is about a 25 min drive from here. Shopping in Farmington is about 25 min in the other direction. Verizon service is 1 bar. AT&T had 13 bars. Lol.

We stopped over on a freezing night in November, and would not expect any RV park in this area to look great at this time. The park was clean, however, and the large long term resident area was reasonably well maintained. Overall it could be a four star facility save for the mask defiant reception staffer. With the pandemic raging out of control, and New Mexico taking strong anti-COVID measures such as banning non-residents from the State Parks, a receptionist in a RV park who puts incoming customers at greater risk is simply unacceptable. I will not visit here again.

Good location, not far from our highway route. Clean and tidy grounds. Called in advance and they answered the phone !!! and were very helpful on their availability, etc. (So many places don’t answer and don’t call you back which is frustrating when trying to plan ahead on a stay especially in winter months). Full hook-ups, solid WiFi and decent TV reception. I was disappointed that the receptionist wasn’t wearing face mask. And with New Mexico’s covid issues in this area of state!! Ugh.
Our stay was November 7, 2020.
I would stay again but would appreciate their courtesy of wearing mask.
