Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on January 09, 2023We enjoyed our stay here. Mary Ellen and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Several ponds with ducks and free fishing. Sites are gravel and easy to level. Bathrooms need a little updating but are clean. Showers and laundry clean. Has swimming pool and dog park. Roads a little narrow but certainly passable. We stayed in 38’ fifth wheel. We also were able to store our unit over the holidays while we returned to WI. 2 days passport America at $17 and a week at $140. $2 per day for grass storage area. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked this last minute as we were headed south out of Jackson. Barry gave us great directions over the phone and we arrived at 7:30. He was waiting at the entrance as promised and led us to our pull-thru site. We didn't ask for a lakeside back-in site, since we are only here on night... However after seeing the private fishing lake (no license required) it would have been nice. Our gravel site was level, and full hook-up. Our neighbor was fairly close, but not uncomfortably so. We had good AT&T cell signal, and picked up 20 or so OTA television stations. We'd definitely stay here again, but would prefer to allow time to check out the fishing ponds. Rate was $40, but I got 10% off as a military veteran.

My friend pulls a 19' Airstream Bambi and I have a 25' Sprinter van. We were camping at Davis Bayou and the park service kicked everyone out the following day so we decided to head north and stick a couple of days. I called Okatoma - they are VERY NICE. They will help you with anything. We stayed side-by-side and put our awnings out pointed at one another. If you have a sprinter van; you need to park in a way that you can dump when necessary. The water spigot and dump pipe are way too close for comfort. Don't feed the ducks - they won't leave you alone. They warned us when we checked in so that was nice! Very quiet and very nice people who are running it. If you have to stop near Hattiesburg, I recommend staying. It's safe and quaint. I used a Verizon Hotspot and was getting 50MBPS. Get supplies before you get there; they do have a small selection of snacks but you won't have anything near by. They did have Internet but I never used it.
There are some monthly residents on the other side of the lake/pond. You can fish but I think you have to toss back the bass. They do have trails you can walk - I believe they have 60+ acres. If you have a very long/high rig; drive careful.
If I had any complaints it is that instead of cement or grass parking; they have rocks. Would be nicer with small gravel/pebbles or something because those rocks kill your feet and my 80 pound dog even had a hard time with the rocks. They help with mud if it's been raining but that would be the only thing stopping me from going back.
While you can sit at the picnic table that is on the grass (that surrounds the lake/pond); we felt less exposed by putting mats down between us for cooking on a grill. They do have fire rings but you'll need to bring your own firewood or use what you can find in the woods.

It looked like a great place wage we showed up the sites are very close. The camp is becoming a KOA so it might get better. The people who run the camp are very nice.
This place is a KOA now. It is a beautiful property with level sites.
My only complaint is that the store had either 16-oz bottles of “enhanced “ milk or a gallon jug of real milk.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. GPS may guide you to Seminary, MS.

We stopped for 1 night. Got a little concerned when we first pulled in on the access road, but it was never an issue. Well maintained park, very friendly staff. Big rig friendly. We'll stay here again. We camped at Hattiesburg / Okatoma River KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed two nights for a family reunion close by. Staff was friendly, site 28 backed up to the lake. The good part of the site was the our door opened to a site that was further away and perpendicular to ours. It also had a fence for separation. On the other side of us the occupant's awning was very close to our site. A little too close for my taste. The camper van that had stayed the night before was a better fit. The pool was nice and perfect for the warm weather. The showers were on the other side of the park, I didn't mind driving over there. The shower house was clean, but the showers were a little tight. There was free fishing as long as you threw the bass back in. Ducks were always coming up wanting to be fed, but were not aggressive. Overall a nice place to stay.

Never stayed at a KOA before but some friends invited us to go kayaking with them on the Okatoma river and this KOA was the closest campground around.
When I called they could not tell me which site we were assigned to, which was fine. I was nervous because the sites looked close together in photos but since we were going to be out all day Saturday room between sites wasn’t a big deal to me. I do like my privacy though so if we planned on staying put all weekend I maybe would’ve requested somewhere with space to roam.
Anyway we were assigned site 29 which I heard more than once was the best site in the park. How did I get so lucky?
The spot was gravel but has a picnic table on a concrete slab and some chairs around a fire pit. Super fancy. Oh and a bbqpit! If I would’ve known that- we would’ve prepared to cookout.
The site was great. Kind of a distance from the showers but it was great.
Bathrooms were right across the way by the rec center.
They were clean but I felt I didn’t have a lot of space to move around in them. When I showered and when I used the bathrooms. It was ok. Nothing that’s going to hinder my view of this place.
Everyone was so nice and friendly.
My kids loves the rec center. It was nice to have games for my kids to play when it rained Saturday afternoon. The pool was pretty nice and sparkling clean.
Overall if I was coming to Harrisburg and needed a campground I would choose this place again.
I mentioned to my husband multiple times this weekend how nice it was.
(We usually stay at more woodsie places, with long trails, this KOA had very few trees and a super small walking path.

We booked a pull thru for an overnight stay. Guided directly to the site. Was level and large. Great amenities here with lots of waterfront. It is one way in and one way out.

We just happened upon this KOA while on a road trip: I believe it’s my new favorite. So peaceful and very well maintained, new bathrooms, laundry and outdoor kitchen being built. Staff was the best, super helpful. Number 29 is the absolute BEST! I had never stayed here before but wouldn’t hesitate to come again and maybe stay longer!!!
