We decided to camp down here (as opposed to the free dry camping on the other side of the lake) because of the campground's proximity to activities we were interested in.

The campground is fairly large and situated next door to the RV Park (don't get confused). Sites are not overly large, but not cramped either. Water is available as well as trash bins and a dump station. We chose one of the back in sites on Loop D to give us a view of the lake. The pads are older asphalt instead of the newer concrete, and there's a low traffic road nearby, but the view more than made up for it.

We took a trip to the Visitor Center, the kids earned their Jr. Ranger Badges, we went for a short ride/run on the 31 mile paved bike path, and also took the Historic Rail Trail out to Hoover Dam for a tour. It was a great couple of days and we'd definitely stay here again!

Boosted we had about 4 bars of Verizon 4G. Not sure what we had without it.

Many of the National Park campgrounds suffer from aging infrastructure and this one is no exception but it beat the more expensive $40 option next door. The site hosts were diligent in stopping by every site and chatting with folks. There is communal water, no electric, but there is a dump station. Generators are allowed but with limited hours. Bathrooms were clean. The worst thing about this place is how un-level the sites are. Most of the pavement is gone and what is left makes it hard to get level. Also, all the roads and sites generally slope towards Lake Mead. We probably would have chosen a more remote boondock site but this put us closer to our route for tomorrow. Easy access for any size rig but no over air tv, and we are basically in metro Las Vegas. All in all we probably would stay here again.

This campground has increased their fee as of January 1, 2016. $20 per night, up from $10. Most of the sites are nice, level concrete pads, except for the loop closest to the water. For some reason, those have not been upgraded and are mostly eroded asphalt. There are lots of Eucalyptus to provide nice shade. The sites are well spaced. The campground was very quiet when we were there, except for the generators running as there is no electric. Though fairly close to the highway, there was no road noise, to speak of. The cell service was great without a booster and we were able to stream a movie. The water is now a long way away, and there is no "beach" access from the campground. There are flush toilets, which are very clean and well kept, but no showers. Nearby is the Railroad Tunnel Trail, which is a 4ish mile walk (one way) on an old railroad bed to Hoover Dam. The campground is right on the River Mountain Loop Trail - a 33.5 bicycling trail.

Even though we stayed a week here in march (good weather!) we didn't love the campgrounds. The sites kind of degrade as you go down towards the beach of Lake Mead (which is like 1/2 mile from the grounds but looks way closer). We chose a site the furthest from the entrance, "beachfront" if you will. Lots of dodgy folks around, a couple of druggies (one of which ended up going away by ambulance) but this provides entertainment IMO.

BUT. If you've read any of our reviews, you know we focus on the activities (and libations) around us. And this campground just so happens to be right on the River Mountains Loop Trail, a beastly 35 mile paved trail that goes up (and then up and then up) and down and all around. Really quite beautiful and immaculately maintained. You literally ride around to Henderson and can see the Vegas strip from the trail.

The Hoover Dam is right around the corner, but you can only ride your bike mostly there (not on the park grounds) so bring a bike lock. Boulder City is cute in its own way, and they have a good restaurant inexplicably called "The Dillinger" (sounds stuffy but wasn't at all) with a great beer selection.

We arrived in the early afternoon on a Thursday and had plenty of sites to choose from even though some schools were having spring break (the campground did get pretty full by dinner time though). We chose a site down as close to the water as we could get In order to have a view. Didn't have any problems getting level. Everything was quiet and peaceful and we didn't see any dubious characters, just the usual assortment of families, students and retirees. Although the water level is still down from the high water mark, it was good to see how much Lake Mead has recovered. My husband took a nice bike ride and I took a walk down to the lake shore.

Our rate reflects the use of our Senior Access Pass.

We are new to RV'g and dry camping so we come to Boulder Beach to get some experience with our rig before a big trip. This is close to home so it makes for a quick getaway for us. We are able to work remotely so this spot is great for us as signal is always great. We've been here several times and so far our favorite site was #56. Since we back into our site, we get the view of the water through our front window. The bathrooms are clean and the sites are clean too. The camp hosts are always very friendly and super nice to our dogs. We have 3 dogs. A big Pitbull, a Boxer/American Bulldog mix, and a little Silky Terrier. There are great cycling paths and although we are not right up to the water, it is not a far walk to the beach. The beach is a little rocky so water shoes are a must in our opinion. We never really go into the water anyways because dogs are not allowed on the beach. Sites are a little more private because of the trees in the area. Not super far from neighbors, but at least there is some separation with the trees. We've only had good experiences here.

First of all, by the end of April, it's WAY too hot to be here. We were dying. The "beach" is about a mile walk away and isn't that nice. We did see the questionable folks living in a tent (4 adults and 1 child) with garbage and food everywhere. The sites nearest the lake are definitely run down. While the sites further from the lake looked nicer, there didn't seem to be much shade. There also isn't much to do around here. This is absolutely way too expensive for this crappy of a campground with no real amenities. Maybe for a stopover if we were desperate, but most likely we wouldn't stay here again.

Conveniently located near Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, but off the road far enough to be quiet.

The beauty of the lake mead is just beautiful. There is so much to do along with a lot of dog walks We are here in October and the weather is 70 to 80's during the day and about 50 at night. Very quiet and peaceful. I believe all that come here will enjoy the ambiance.
