I stayed over the 4th of July holiday and what fireworks there were were short lived. Nice.
Numerous short trails to walk and a long walk to the beach, but it was crowded with off-roaders so did not see the ocean. It was a relaxing quiet park. Clean flush toilets but no showers.

This park is about a third of a mile from the beach. Wonderful treed sites with some sun. The park is very clean. Showers are available at another campsite about 1/3 of a mile away.

When I tried to stay here I found out that you must have a reservation. All campsites were empty and not reserved! But I couldn't stay. This used to be one of my favorite campgrounds. Not anymore.

The campground itself is fine - the problem is the noise! From early morning until late at night the quadholes race around the dunes that border the campground. There is a posted limit of 93 db but obviously that limit is NOT enforced. If you're familiar with what a 1000 horsepower Baja race car sounds like then imagine camping right next the race course! Maybe if you could see the race cars it would be entertaining - but in this case you cannot see the source of the noise - you can only suffer it!

Booked the same day on recreation.gov and got a great spot by the toilets. The sites are paved and very large with wooded areas around all sites. It was so quiet even though we stayed the Monday after Dune Fest. Definitely recommend.
