White Sands Missile Range Trinity Site

DO NOT use GPS to get to Trinity Site use directions below Exit I-25 on mile marker 139 (San Antonio, N.M.) and head 12 miles east or exit U.S. Highway 54 onto U.S. Highway 380 and head west 53 miles of Carrizozo, N.M. Turn south on New Mexico State Highway 525 and head south five miles to the Stallion gate. The New Mexico Museum of Space History and International Space Hall of Fame Foundation host a motor coach tour to the site each April and October as part of educational outreach and as a fundraiser for the Foundation. Local historians accompany guests on the coach, giving an in-depth talk on the bomb and its history, along with unique insight into local history. Once on site, guests enjoy a brown bag lunch, visit to the McDonald House and go on a walking tour of Trinity Site. On the way back, guests wind down with an onboard movie and upon return to the museum are treated to a guided tour The first Saturday in April and October. Stallion Gate Hours: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Trinity site prompt closure: 3:30 p.m. The Alamogordo caravan is only open to the first 125 vehicles. The limit is necessary to maintain a safe environment enroute to Trinity Site. All others will have to enter the site through the Stallion Gate located off U.S. Highway 380, View directions here.
