We've stayed at Valley of the Rogue State Park a couple times. It's our favorite spot when we have to go to Medford.

Sites are nicely spaced and the park is nice for long walks.

The second time we stayed here, I didn't realize that some spots had full hookups and some didn't so I mistakenly reserved us in the partial hookups section.

I've fallen in love with the Rogue River Valley. It is absolutely breathtaking here. Great campground - love the Oregon State Park summer Junior Ranger Programs. We've had quite a few interactions with the Interpretive Hosts and other rangers and they are all fabulous. Verizon is stable, there's plenty of walking trails, nice bike path. Kids have loved riding their bikes all over the campground. We've taken day trips into Medford, Ashland, and Grants Pass. All have been fabulous!

We have stayed here 2 or 3 times now and have always enjoyed it. There are a couple loops with full hookups but we prefer F loop which has power and water. It seems to have better spacing between sites. Power & water is good and the restrooms have always been clean.
The park is pretty close to the freeway so you will certainly have noise but nothing over powering.

There's an $8 reservation fee in addition to the rate above. We were only able to stay one night while passing through, but the park was quite nice with views of the nearby hills and river. Our loop (F) had large sites (many can easily fit big rigs) and was mostly wooded. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings, and there were many campfires going on. No WiFi or AT&T but Verizon worked well. One leg of our 50 amp hookup didn't work so we had to plug into the 30 amp terminal instead. The Rogue River Greenway is a paved trail that goes through the park and was a great place for a long dog walk. The biggest drawback is the noise from I-5, which was literally just a couple hundred feet away.

This is a beautiful area, but we didn't have time to explore this time as we were on a tight schedule from Portland to Southern California. So for us we were looking for an overnight, preferably pull through, and big enough that we didn't need to unhitch.

Valley of the Rogue offered all of that and more. It is a beautiful setting and as close as it is to the interstate we didn't hear the highway at all. We chose a water and electric site as the extra cost was minimal. The campground was only half full on the Thursday we visited.

The river runs through the park and some of the sites back onto it. It was just a brief stay but was absolutely perfect for us and we would definitely come back when we have more time.

This is our second time staying at Valley of the Rogue State Park. This time we stayed here in order to check out Crater Lake National Park. It's an hour and a half away but that was the best we could do this time of year on short notice - plus we knew we really likes this park!

It's a very peaceful place to stay. We had a HUGE site (I'll try to look up which number it was) which a much bigger rig would have been VERY comfortable in.

We had full hookups and decent cell coverage.

Access to this park is pretty easy, and the rest area you go through to enter is actually a great place to unhitch a toad if you pull one. The road is a bit windy around the guard house, but after that it is wide and straight.

We stayed in the farthest loop from the entrance (F loop), which has access to the hiking/biking trail, a frisbee golf course, and a nice bath house. There was water and electric at our site, so we got a shaded spot since we weren't relying on our solar panels.

The park can get a little crowded on weekends, and there's near-continuous road noise from the highway, but otherwise it's a peaceful place with a trail that runs right along the Rogue River and plenty of places to walk and ride bikes. The camp hosts are diligent, and the sites are a good size.

It's a quick drive into Rogue River for bare bones necessities, and a slightly longer drive into Medford or Grants Pass for a more extensive shopping trip.

We were only able to stay for 4 nights here and those days consisted of taking road trips out to Crater Lake national park and a day long white water rafting trip.

Coming back to our campsite was always relaxing from the moment we pulled into our site. The staff of the park are all helpful and so nice. We were able to sit out by the fire every night.

Watch out for TICKS if you go on any hikes!

Would definitely stay again. Easy on and off the interstate but far enough away to gaze at stars and enjoy the silence.

We stayed Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights, left on Tuesday in the morning. We had a real nice site with plenty of room around us and we were on the outside with a nice field behind us. We hiked on the trail, geocached, relaxed and enjoyed the campground. We went on a loop over to Jacksonville, a quiet old town with plenty to check out. We went to a few of the local wineries, please check out Red Lilly, bring a picnic and sit by the river, so nice. We went into Grants Pass and ate at the Horny Goat, wow! I had a great meal, there is plenty to choose from for any dietary need. Lots of stores near by, parks, hiking and biking trails. Dump station was clean, bathrooms clean and showers were hot and lots of pressure. We read in past reviews about the noise, we found it not to be an issue in the back of the park at our location. We did hear a train early in the morning when the campers were all asleep. no trouble from rowdy folks or kids.

We stayed here for a couple separate nights in August 2017. We like this campground as an overnight stop to other locations, but I would probably chose a different location if staying in the area more than a couple nights. The reason is it's very close to the freeway so you have the noise factor. The closer you can get to the river the less the freeway noise. The campground is very nice however, with all the conveniences of a typical Oregon State Park Campground including showers and restrooms but with laundry too.

Try and find a space with shade as it can be very hot in summer. There are lots of hiking trails and some river access to swim when hot.

We tried to get to our site about 1:30 on a stopover midweek but they would not let us in. Instead we were herded to a temporary waiting area until 3:00 when they finally gave us the OK. The temperature was over 100 degrees and no shade in the waiting area. There were about 25 RV's waiting there. We all roasted alive.

Site B18 was a back-in site, had some shade and backed up to the river with full hookups and was nice. Site B20 was just across from it, was a pull-through and no shade at all.
A short drive to the Town of Rogue River via back roads was nice, and we were able to fill up with diesel, wash the truck, get a few groceries at a grocery store, and pick up a bottle of Bulliet bourbon at a state liquor store, all easy access after a day of towing.
