“Get your kicks on Route 66”
When you're traveling, it's a special treat to end your day at a place with standards you can trust - like this KOA. It's just off I-40, halfway between Elk City and Clinton. This is Route 66 country, and both towns have museums dedicated to the Mother Road. From the campground, it's a short walk to Clinton Lake for sand bass and crappie fishing. You're 11 miles from Foss Lake, also known for bass fishing. Lucky Star Casino and two great golf courses are within a 15-minute drive. Visit Stafford Air & Space Museum or Washita Battlefield National Historic Site, both within an hour's drive. At KOA, park your RV on a long, level, paved, and shady RV Site; pitch a tent; or stay in a Camping Cabin or Deluxe Cabin. Relax at the pool (5/25 - 9/8), enjoy the playground, and let your pet romp in the fenced pet area. Have dinner in the dining room or at your site. Max pull-thru: 90 feet. Your hosts: Hank and Rhonda Twyman.

Immaculate grounds, lots of grass and most sites with shade trees. Space between sites is pretty standard but with lots of grass in between. My particular site was not real level, side to side but most of the others seemed fine level wise. Large and CLEAN dog area. A popular O/N campground but also with campers who seemed to be there for more than O/N. The sites in front are closer to the highway and although there was a little road noise, it didn't seem bad considering how close and easy it is to I-40. There are also about 25 sites in the back that may be quieter with a few 50A sites and the rest 30A. There is a dinner (Pizza, pulled pork, baked potatoes, Wings, and Sides) and a breakfast menu (breakfast type sandwiches). The staff/owners are very engaging and happy to accommodate. As mentioned, there are quite a few trees, probably at almost every site, if you have height or width restrictions, just call ahead to make sure you get a site that fits you. Almost every site will fit a MH, but they do fill up. Not sure exactly what is in the area, I only stayed the night, but I could have stayed a few more. There is a lake about 400 yards from the Campground, but no swimming or even dog swimming . . . something about snapping turtles!

Came in at night and turned down isle w/ pull through spots and was a dead end, had to back all the way down road to get out.
Very low voltage on 39amp, left and went on down the road.
Great stopover place right off the highway, there was Clinton lake across the street but we were just passing through.

Good for a stopover. Forget the full hookups. It is like a parking lot and you are slammed on top of each other. Much more room in the back of the park. Pool is decent but they let outsiders come in for a fee and it was packed with kids. Bathrooms super clean. Friendly staff. Little grill for fast food and they have a bar where you can get a beer. Walking distance to Lake Clinton.

Zip, zero, zilch hot water in the women's bathroom. It was a clean facility but I'd rather have a hot shower than a clean cold shower.

No room on site for a 38ft class A towing had to convert to a 30AMP which wouldn’t been a problem if it would work correctly could only run 1 A/C and it kept tripping the breaker. No WIFI. Be prepared to run your generator. However, staff was very friendly.

Fri night storm came in. Next morning both driver's side and passinger side door windows were knocked out. Manager said it was the wind. There were at least 40 or more rv and motorhomes there. None were damaged. Man who replaced the windows said it was vandals. I believe it was vandals also. Called up to the office and ask the lady if I could move closer to the office for my last nite. She said she would ask the manager. Never got back to me. I left, I didn't feel safe. They also allow dogs to room without leashes. Scary place.

We arrived after hours and they had our reservations/ map of where to go near the front door of the entrance. We left early in the morning prior to sunrise. From the limited amount of time I was there, it served the purpose I needed.

We stayed here one night 8/14 as we headed East. Right off I-40 and easily accessed. Fairly small park with a lot of overnight stays. Spot 46 was shaded, a little space between spots, but the park could use a little upkeep. It is a little more remote so the bar could be handy for those that may need food. We did not utilize it, but our friends that have stayed here multiple times have enjoyed the wood fired oven cooked food. It was very buggy, so didn't adventure out much on our overnight. The wifi was just ok, but not strong enough to stream. If we were coming this way and it was in our path of places to stop, we would use it for an overnight again.

First time at a KOA... I looked over pictures and knew what to expect. Was I impressed... kinda! Jason, Heather, and Katie were all extremely inviting and had a great personality.
I was a little worried about the other patrons in the long term sites... they didn't give a good vibe as we pulled in... but there's a long term site section and daily/weekly section, which included a better laundry and shower. Bar/restaurant was really good, kid loved his pizza. Wife and I enjoyed the beer, nachos, and burger.
Playground was dated, but kid enjoyed burning off steam. Pool was closed, but looked nice.
