We liked it so much here we added a couple days. Don't let the beat up sign turn you away!

The owner, Dennis, is a lovely gentleman who gives the Good Sam discount on top of the weekly rate. Definitely the nicest park in the area and the best value.

FHUs with 50 amp and very good WiFi. Ask for a site with satellite access if you need it. Even with all the beautiful old growth trees that provide wonderful shade, there are a few with open sky where you want it.

Not a lot of space between sites, but we weren't here to hang around camp. There's so much to see withing 70 miles in all directions. Some of the most beautiful country we've seen in 31 states.

Grocery store across the street, fuel and propane next door. We had a good experience getting service at the local Cummins Service shop as well.

Park is on Hwy 40 so there's some road noise, but not bad and no issue at night. Most of the park is dark at night which is so nice for sleeping with the windows open.

This is definitely one of the better options in the area. It is conveniently located and very clean. We showed up late and the owner was very accommodating. It is convenient with a grocery store right across the street. The sites are mostly all pull through and level. Pretty trees separate the sites even though they are fairly close together.

This is the best option for visiting the dinosaur quarry if you need hookups. There is also a KOA nearby but it is way overpriced.

The only odd thing was that it cost $0.25 to take a 90 second shower. Haven't encountered a coin operated shower before!

There was a little road noise in the day but it was quiet at night.

Agree with other reviews. Very convenient in town but beside middle school so more open then you'd think. Grocery across the street. Great pizza at Artica near museum. Staff very nice and helpful, knowledgeable about area.

Nice place the middle sites are pull through. When we arrived the owner said to take whatever spot we wanted. He later came over to see which one we had. He was very nice over the phone when I made the reservation. He said if no one was in the office to call him and he would right there

after boondocking at Flaming Gorge we stayed two nights here with visiting Dinosaur National Monument and oil change and new tires for our truck - owners were very friendly and the sites in this small campground were under the shade of large cottonwood trees with nicely mowed grass- wifi was a plus and came in handy - the owners were very welcoming and location was close to restaurants, Walmart, etc - lots to do in the area - they even gave me detergent when I ran out in their laundry - cleanest litle laundry room ever - awesome donut shop across the street and the Vernal Brewing Company and Plaza Mexical Restaurant all were very nice places to eat - convenient for visiting the Dinosaur Nat Monument - Vernal is a nice little town with beautiful huge flower pots lining the main street

Paid $44 for a single night stay after Good Sam discount. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Sites were gravel but level.

We didn't have an advanced reservation but we pulled in mid-July and had our pick of just about any spots. About 1/4 of the campground looks to be permanent (or long-term) residents. The rest are large pull-through sites.

Located right off the main road but we didn't hear any road noise.

We will always remember this campground as our first night stay in our full-time RV adventures. The guy at the front desk must have suspected that because he ran alongside the rig as we towed through the park and walked us through every step of parking it. Haha.

Stayed here two nights to do Dinosaur NM. Sites are not huge but are certainly adequate. Pads are gravel with lots of big shade trees, all hookups worked without any issues and ownership was helpful and accommodating. Plenty of room for big rigs.

Verbal is a neat little town in itself. Betty’s Cafe just down the street serves up an awesome breakfast. Also if you need DEF there is an O’Reilly’s Auto Parts next door. If you don’t know what DEF is then you don’t need any.

Reservations are made through Pitchup from the park’s website taking only a small deposit, balance paid on arrival. I highly recommend this park and would gladly stay there again.

Great stopover after some boondocking. Wal-Mart in town to stock up, poor experience there. About 50% of customers wearing masks. Complained to store manager and he seemed indifferent about enforcement of corporate policy.
Campground is clean as are all facilities. Stayed for 2 days to recharge ourselves and suck up some A/C. Easy access, pull through sites and 30/50 amp service, fast WiFi!

Great option with full hookups if you are visiting Dinosaur NM. Base out of here for Flaming Gorge, Ouray NWP, Red Canyon. Convenient laundry, clean showers/restrooms. Vernal Brewing Company for a good meal. Sits across from a Smiths grocery store and the Walmart and other stores are minutes away. Good WiFi. Some road noise, but not bad.

We purchased a new RV in town and knew we wanted to stay for a couple days after making the drive from Southern California. After reading previous reviews, I knew we wanted to stay at Fossil Valley RV Park. We stayed for 2 nights in site 43 and upon arrival, Dennis, the owner of the RV park was so friendly and easy to talk with while checking us in. He gave us great information about nearby sights for our family to see... Vernal is known as Dinosourland and boy did it surprise us! Excellent Wifi and laundry is also in the park. The location is perfect for a day or week stay. Smith's grocery store is right across the street. Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur National Monument and many other attractions are with in an hour drive. We only had time to visit the Dinosaur National Monument and the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum, which both were fantastic stops. We would definitely stay here again.

Cell service: Verizon 4G extended service.
