“great place to escape the city”
Houston West RV Park is conveniently located off of Interstate 10 just 45 minutes west of downtown Houston and 15 minutes west of Katy. Houston West RV Park is a great place to escape the city without being too far away. We have all the amenities for an overnight stay or a monthly stay, 30 AMP or 50 AMP, small camper or large bus. Come and enjoy the 2 acre fishing pond, large open grassy park, pool and hot tub or relax in the TV lounge. We look forward to seeing you at Houston West RV Park.

Everyone was SO nice! They have a great small private lake (so no fishing license needed) that is catch and release. It also has a walking/running trail all the way around it with ducks! Everything worked great. Extra large dog park with a separate side for small dogs. Easy access to highway yet it was very quiet! Laundry is open 24 hours. I went during the day and was able to wait for my clothes to wash and dry in the office/store area which was way more comfy on the couch than our last place was (which was a hot room with the plastic chair). We will definitely stay here again

We stayed for two nights in late 2014 while visiting a friend in nearby Katy, TX. The sites are pretty small and close together... too close for our liking. The park is very close to I-10, but because it is up on a hill most of the highway noise is muffled unless you're in the first couple rows closest to the highway. Although the sites were small and the park was completely full, everything was fairly clean and tidy. We didn't use any of the amenities, so can't comment on those. There are some grassy areas and a pond which we walked around with our dogs a few times (dogs are not permitted in the pond). We'd consider staying here again, but would first try to find someplace else nearby with larger sites.

This is basically a large gravel parking lot, with tightly packed sites.
It was convenient for visiting family in Katy, and doing some exploring in Houston, but is a bit far from town.
Lots of permanent / seasonal RVs, but most were well kept. Close to the freeway, but far enough away that the noise isn't too bad.

This was a welcome find on our way back from SE Houston. Lots of long term residents and packed a little tight, but plenty of room to get around. Nice new amenities and everything is very clean. Staff is super friendly. They have a nice hot tub!

Super friendly staff, very clean and nice bathrooms, quiet park. The town of Brookshire isn't large, and so I would suggest grabbing groceries or ant other needs in another spot. Easy access to I10 and Houston.

This park is mostly people that live there. It was easy to pull into the space and hook up( full hook up) easy to get in and out, which was our main concern, since we were passing through to stop and visit family. The place was clean and the pool and bathrooms were very clean, as well as the dog park.
Because of the “resident” trailers I can’t give this park a good score as an RV traveler. It’s not a place we would stay to relax because it’s treeless and basically a trailer park, but we would stay because it was clean, fast and level. A drop off spot if you are vacationing.
Cell coverage was good but cable did not work at all.
Location to the downtown is very far out.... just an FYI. But not far from the interstate.
It was less expensive than the ones closer to town.
We felt safe and had no issues with that as well as noise. It’s nice and quiet out here with no traffic and quiet people.

As the name implies, this campground is a few miles west of the city. The park has mostly pull through sites but around the edges of the park are some back in sites. Roads and sites are all gravel, with some very lush grass in between sites. Our site, 164, is in the longer site area, but even the shorter sites are 70 feet long. Most sites are 30/50 amp although a few are only 30 amp. All have FHUs and picnic tables. All sites appeared level as well. It is a large full service park with 173 sites. Most sites are pull through - lots of amenities: a pavilion, a pond for catch and release fishing, a walking trail, a dog park, a dog wash area, a laundry, restrooms and showers, a pool and hot tub, a playground, a bocce ball court, a store and a lounge. No cable but there is WiFi that worked until in the evening when the park was full. This is a Good Sam park. We were only here for one night as we traveled west on I-10, but we would stay longer if we were visiting in the Houston area.

This was convenient as I was headed east on a weekend and could travel thru Houston on a Sunday morning. I really liked it here as there is a walking path around a pond which was great for the dog and the dog park is fairly large. The sites were grassy, not any closer than any other private park and the people camping and at the front office were friendly.
