“the campground with elbow room!”

Carved out of the woods, the campground better known as, “THE CAMPGROUND WITH ELBOW ROOM”, pleads guilty of extra large sites, quiet and relaxing atmosphere for those wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Swim our relaxing pool or enjoy our man-made, spring fed pond. Our spectacular pond includes a fun slide with floating raft. Children will enjoy our exciting playground and video games in our game room.

I would give them a 10 if they had 50A and pavement/concrete at all sites. Nice, easy access location, grass site was level, good spacing between sites. Doughboy pool was clean, as was the game room and shower/baths. Playground for kids, friendly staff. They also have a swimming pond on site. We camped at Rest N' Nest Campground in a Motorhome. It takes a little driving to check the area out, it's about 15 miles to the 89 interchange which is about the center of the universe for this area.

This is a great family campground and we will definitely return. The owners (New Owners Spring 2020) are pretty laid back but do enforce important safety rules like speed limit because there are kids running around. It is close to the interstate which is very convenient although you can definitely hear the traffic from the sites closer to the interstate. I don't think you would hear the traffic as much on the nightly sites, we are in the monthly section. Luckily this isn't close to any bigger cities so at night there maybe 1 or 2 cars that pass per hour and inside your camper you don't really hear them. Tent camping might be a different story. The sites are a decent size but not super-private so if you have young children it can present a boundary issue because they want to explore and there isn't much space for them to do so on your own site. Unfortunately, the park, pool and swimming lake are closed due to COVID-19 but if the park opens soon, that would help significantly with having younger children.

We spent 3 weeks at Rest N’ Nest and were very pleased overall with our stay there! Details below.

Pros:
One of, if not the nicest owners we’ve met at a campground. They were very accommodating and did all they could to enhance our experience.
Sites were for the most part a very good size. Our site was meant for an 80’ rig so it was more than long enough for our 30’ RV and Jeep to park in and our “yard” though narrow was plenty large to have a lot of space for our dogs to roam and for us to sit outside etc.
Sites had a fire ring and picnic table. Always a plus!
Each Friday night the owners had a big fire at the office that they invited everyone to and while we didn’t get a chance to do it, it’s a really cool thing they do to allow you to meet and hang out with the other campers.
Beautiful campground with a pond, game/activity room, pool, basketball goal, and playground.

Cons:
Laundry was available which is a pro but they only had 2 washers and 2 dryers and you had to sign up for a time to use them so that was kind of a pain.
Verizon and T-mobile phone service was pretty bad. It would work well enough but not great. If you’re at the top section of the campground you got amazing Wi-Fi but if you were on the bottom section like we were you had nothing. However, they say by next year (2023) they hope to have it all over the campground so I don’t really fault them for that. Luckily our Verizon jetpack was enough that we could work off of but that was it.
The site next to ours (43 I believe) had their water hook up all the way in our site, close enough we thought it was ours and that we were just facing the wrong way. So that was an awkward situation for both parties each time someone had to hook up.

Overall:
This was a great campground that has a lot of potential with the new(ish) owners really trying to update it and upgrade it in a lot of ways. Were it not for the weird layout of ours and our neighbors site as well as the lack of wi-fi and cell service it would have likely gotten 5 stars. But if we make it back there next year I believe that will be the case!

We stayed here to be close to family prior to a wedding we were going. Nice access to Lebanon and Dartmouth areas. Easy on and off of hwy. speed bumps in the campground and crazy high. We were in the lower section of the campground. Muddy from all the rains to be expected but still east to get in and out of. Mosquitos were also a bit crazy when we were there but citronella candle worked as well as bug spray. Stayed July 26-28th. Our travel partners site had some electrical issues but they came right out within an hour of notifying and assessed the issue. Real nice people. Would consider staying here as monthly’s for work if ever in the area! Did not use any amenities but saw the area for laundry and the pool up at the front. Sites fairly level which was nice.
