“Sleep under the California moonlight”
Woodside RV Park & Campground, Fort Bragg, CA This campground is changing & improving. We recently completely up graded our electrical system and are working on our interior roads. The entrance and some of the interior roads will soon be paved. Also the park has been divided into two separate areas, one for monthly renters the other for short term campers. The short term area is being expanded with additional primitive tent sites. Also more and improved hiking trails in the canyon among the redwoods.

Most folks are residents, the condition of their trailers range the gamut. Kids on bikes and scooters after school (the school bus comes inside). No playground. Couple unhoused folks return regularly to sit on a bench. There is one working shower (quarters) and a bathroom. No fenced dog area, no market, not within easy walking distance to anything. Cash only (!) not even checks.
On the other hand, folks are friendly, Dan the manager is kind and helpful. Free wifi. Full hook-up. Picnic benches in good shape. (Firepits are rusted shells though.) A couple trails, one a mile long leads to Bonita Beach, the other leads to the Mendocino Botanical gardens. Locale is on far south end of Ft Bragg. You need to take Hwy 1 to get to town, which is busy, I wouldn't bike it.
If you have transportation then it's a central location, yes. But we got raised eyebrows from locals when we mentioned that's where we were staying, lol. They recommended MacKerricher state park, couple miles north of Ft Bragg, which looks fantastic but there are no hookups.

It was a last minute reservation for the Labor Day weekend. Dan was great and it was all on the honor system to pay. The showers were clean( regardless I always use flip flops) and acceptable. Majority of the spots are taken up with residents, but never did we feel it was unsafe. If you are looking to spend time at beaches, fort Bragg and Mendocino area, this is a good choice. On the other hand if you are looking for a legitimate camping/ looking at the stars/campfire/ peace and quiet time, this is not your place.

I spent one month here in my Ford Transit campervan from late April to late May 2022. It was partly to visit friends in the area but also to save on gas prices. I really enjoyed my stay! The rate was $550 for the month I'm not sure of the daily rate. I had a lovely grassy spot with picnic table, fire ring, some bushes for privacy and access to water and the bathrooms. It is a very organized and well-run campground it was peaceful and I felt safe and at home there. It is mostly long term residents and some families and I enjoyed the mix. Water is from a well with an excellent filtration system showers and bathrooms are clean with lots of hot water. WiFi is good cell service abit weak outside the center of Fort Bragg
