We offer RV sites, deluxe and camping cabins, teepees and tent sites. This is a place so beautiful that you won't want to leave, and you'll find so many nearby attractions and activities that you'll want to make time for them all. You will enjoy spectacular views of the beautiful Roan Plateau, the Mamm Peaks and Battlement Mesa and over 2,800 feet of frontage along the majestic Colorado River, where you can stroll along the banks and watch for bald eagles, cast a line for trout or enjoy a tubing experience. Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA makes a great basecamp for exploring western Colorado. Scenic drives on excellent roads will take you east to Glenwood Springs — and its famous hot springs – and beyond to the world-famous ski/resort towns of Aspen and Vail; or west to Rifle and its mountain parks, the wineries and orchards in Palisade and the majestic Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction. Click on “LOCAL AREA” for details. The Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA was created from scratch, starting in 2015. Everything is new and “purpose-built” for your enjoyment. You will register at our Welcome Center, with its convenience store, lounge, games, TV, library, laundry, showers and changing rooms. Outside the Welcome Center you will find our large, heated pool, sun patio, hot tub and playground. Other amenities include a second, brand new “family-style” bathhouse and laundry, a huge dog park, a boat launch, riverfront picnic area, enhanced trails and a dump station. There are spacious pull-through sites and economical back-in sites, providing something for everyone. All sites have fire pits, picnic tables and grass hangout areas. Each RV space has water, sewer, electric (most are 50 amp) and cable TV with 50+ channels. A strong Wi-Fi signal is available. AND, we are getting bigger and better. New for 2018 were 36 deluxe patio sites, 14 of which are right on the Colorado River — bringing us to a total of over 100 RV sites — and new cabin and tent sites – all beautifully landscaped. Along our Little River you can enjoy four deluxe cabins with kitchens and bathrooms and four camping cabins. We also offer a cluster of three spacious teepees and tent sites. Most importantly, we have a great desire to make your stay enjoyable. Our staff are campers who know what it takes to make other campers happy. They will make you feel appreciated and welcome.

The Silt-Colorado River KOA is (although not classified as) a "Journey" type of campground and based on that it served the purpose well. The campground is VERY easy to access off the freeway. The entry is a bit odd as you have to block the IN when you are registering (no parking lot or pull off area). All of the campground roads are gravel and the sites are quite level. There are trees and grass but both are not mature and will be much better in a few years. Be aware, that there is road noise here from the freeway. We didn't think it was bad and it didn't prevent any of us from sleeping.
The playground was reasonable and did provide entertainment for our daughter and several other kids at the campground. The Kamp K9 here is huge. Our pup loved having an area that was large enough for us to really throw a ball and place fetch. If you have a larger dog that really needs to stretch, several people were using the field next to the campground.
Both times that we stayed here the pool was broken. Unfortunately for us this was the primary reason that we booked this campground. Having booked in advance we had no option to not stay here unless we wanted to loose money. The registration staff was not friendly and totally un sympathetic regarding the pool issues. They were very robotic in their process, repeating the EXACT info for both sites that we were checking in at the same time (Garbage here, pool there, drive this way, etc.). They offered no escort to the site and no assistance getting settled. We ask the staff for some dinner recommendations in the area and they could provide no information. We got on TripAdvisor and found some great places in Glenwood Springs.
If we come back through this area, we will be staying in the Glenwood Springs or Grand Junction and would only stay here again for the large dog area or if there was nothing else available.

We only stayed for one night while traveling I-70, so we didn't use most of the facilities. The campground is pretty nice for a KOA, with long and wide sites with lots of grass between sites, and generally attractive. There's a pretty large fenced dog park, and the park is right along the Colorado River so our dog was able to do a little swimming as well. The free WiFi ranged from very slow to unusable. The only real downside is the proximity to I-70, but we found the highway noise to be fairly quiet and not a problem. We'd stay again if we are looking for a site in the area.

Campground fairly new with a lot of young trees so no real cover at this time. We had one of the "premier" patio lots and must say I believe it was the best site in the park. At the end of the park next to the dog park which was great for our beagles. The site backed up to the flowing river and deer came to the other side bank to drink. There are several eagles in a nearby tree. The site included a covered eating area with metal table and chairs as well as a gas grill and fire pit with seating. Owners and help very friendly. Nice store with necessities as well as wood for a fire. Road noise from Rt 70 a bit noisy at times depending on direction of wind but otherwise very enjoyable.

Yes, this is a KOA. It's like a McDonald's...you know what you are going to get.
The exception for this KOA is the fastest campground WiFi I have ever seen. I was being a good RVer and was using my Verizon Jetpack which gave me a measly 1 Mbps down (despite of having 4 bars of 4G). I decided to hook up to the campground WiFi and ran a speed test. Apparently they use Comcast Business class (according to the speed test) and I got 30 Mbps down., Wow. The Jetpack was immediately turned off.
We had hoped to stay two nights, but were surprised to find they were booked up for rigs our size. So you may want to call ahead.
The pool had just been closed, but the hot tub was still open. It was a nice 103 degrees.
The cable TV was analog cable (i.e. not very crisp). But we had 59 channels. If you are looking for a channel lineup, put in Comcast as the provider.
The bathrooms looked clean. There is free coffee in the office in the mornings, but no decaf. Oh well.
We would stay here again if in the area.

We stayed here to spend some time exploring Glenwood Springs. The staff/hosts here are the friendliest KOA staff we have ever encountered. The sites are fairly close to each other, but the surrounding area is beautiful. You can hear the highway noise and the train, however, we had our heat on so the noise didn't bother us. This is a perfect spot to park the camper and head out to the surrounding parks and mountains. We will definitely be back.

Staying in Silt for a few days while traveling from Utah to Denver was perfect. The city this location is in small but seems to have a few services and events. Rifle is the closest city with a Walmart and restaurants, etc (the Thai place is great).
Amenities at this KOA was pretty good. They have done a lot of upgrades so some of the sites on the river have nice coverings, BBQs, fire pits, etc. We had a pretty nice back-in site next to the dog park, 24 hour laundry and bathrooms. The space was probably almost 90 feet long - plenty of space. Getting in and out was really easy as well.
The dog park is great! A huge grassy space for the dogs to run around. The laundry near us was small but there is another one at the front office. Really new building and new machines, worked well.
The pool was closed the first night we were there, but then opened and really great. Not much shade, but a great way to cool off.
Many people at this KOA are just in and out and quite a few tent campers too, but it was wonderful.
Office had movies to check out, plenty of games and snacks if needed.
The staff here was SO great! My kids enjoyed going up to the office to play pool or watch some TV and everyone was very accommodating and helpful to them. On the way out my son even wanted to stop at the front office and take a picture with some of his favorite staff people.
This is pretty close to the highway which is good for access but a little noise at night. Nothing too much, but it is not remote and quiet if you are looking for that.
Wifi worked well and was really fast but we had problems with Amazon Prime Video streaming or downloading on it. Cell signal was good on ATT.

We stayed for 2 nights and spent our days at the Rifle State Parks that were about 30 minutes away.
The Good - Location was excellent, right off of I-70. Easy check in and very friendly staff! The property itself was gorgeous, right along the Colorado River. There are lots of trails and pathways for kids to explore and access to great fishing. You didn’t feel crammed into a spot - plenty of room that you didn’t feel on top of your neighbors. The bathrooms and showers were very nice and maintained.
The Bad - The only thing I’d like to see is that the pool was better maintained. One of the hottest days of the year and it was closed most of the day because it was murky and cloudy. They finally opened late evening after enough people complained.

We were traveling across CO via I70, this was a great stop off point. The facilities are extremely clean, so were the grounds. The pool is a nice size, and very clean. The staff ALL were very friendly, happy, polite and helpful 😁. We will definitely stay here again.
The river runs along the back of the park. Kids went fishing. Glenwood Springs is just 17 miles away. Local restaurants in Silt is just a 5 min drive.
Great WFI. High water pressure so make sure you have a regulator.

Dan & Jaclyn are world travelers, having kicked the dirt in over 100 countries and sailed within all 7 seas. Currently, we are full-time, location independent, perpetual travelers, roaming around North America.
We have chosen this campground location due to its proximity to Aspen Ski Resort weekend's closing festivities. Not that Glenwood Springs is all that close to the Aspen Mountains, but then again, most of the other campground, especially those within the national forests are still closed during our stay.
Arriving to the location, we selected a premium spot right on the water that extended our outdoor area. the basics were provided such as 30/50 amp services, sewer and water. The premium part included cable, gazebo with table and chairs and a propane BBQ with propane. Additionally was the extra large fire pit with adirondack chairs. That said, our AT& T was blazing here for some reason:))))
The layout of the river spaces, staggered, to take advantage of privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed and very much took advantage of the outdoor spaces. We being Colorado residents, we appreciated the 40-degree nights with such a huge fire pit, pushing loads of heat our way. To boot we had the sounds of the river and the surrounding geese to keep us interested.
The property had a significant amount construction as they were almost doubling the premium spots along the river. That said, the rest of the property amenities were still closed up from the recently passing winter season.
The premium spaces were really fun, although the rest of the property, in my opinion was pretty much average. Not that it's a bad thing; its just our feeling when comparing with our many other camping locations.

This place is fabulous. Lots of room between sites. Beautiful view of the mountains. Plenty of full baths (toilet, sink and shower), concrete patios, level gravel sites. It's exceptionally clean and neat. We stayed on our way to Utah. Every campground should be like this one. The staff are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. They understand customer relationships. We had a site on the river and the view was beautiful. Saw Bald Eagles most evenings along with lots of other birds.
