This RV Park provides full hookups for campers in the park. It is in a lodgepole pine forest near Colter Bay Village. While not on the shores of Jackson Lake, a short stroll leads to a spectacular view of Mount Moran and the northern Teton Range. Colter Bay Village has many facilities including a visitor center, restaurants, stores, cabins, a marina. Shower and laundry services are available for additional fee.

Colter Bay is rather confusing for those visiting for the first time. There is a walk-in campground which was still accepting campers at 2pm mid week in July. There is also a Visitor Center, boat dock with rentals, 2 restaurants, an RV park, a traditional cabin area and a "tent village".
We stayed in a "lean to" which is a tent with 2 log walls and 2 canvas walls. You share a wall with another site but since they are facing opposite directions you feel like you have privacy. If possible try to get a tent facing away from the inside of the campground.
The staff at Colter Bay is attentive, professional and knowledgeable.
There are roll-away beds available for rent for those who don't want to sleep on the squeaky single beds attached to the log walls.
Each site has it's own picnic table, bear locker and fire grate.
The tents do look rather run down. I noted the run down look in my review to Colter Bay and was sent a very friendly reply acknowledging the need to spruce up and that there are plans in place to do so in the near future.
There are ground squirrels everywhere so if you have a thing about rodents entering your tent don't camp here. We saw a Red Fox hunt one down while eating breakfast which was kinda satisfying- those squirrels are BOLD.
Depending on who is staying it can get pretty loud. WiFi only available at the restaurant near the campground. You don't have to buy anything to gain access which was super nice of them.

We stayed here for a week while visiting Grand Teton National Park. I loved that there are trees and it has more of a campground feel than an RV park. I had read that there is no Verizon coverage, but we actually had 4G. There is a grocery store, a couple of restaurants and the Colter Bay Visitor Center all within walking distance from the RV sites.

The Grand Tetons were one of the most beautiful national parks we've visited, and Colter Bay Village RV Park put us right in the middle of the beauty. The sites are not huge, but the abundance of pine trees gave the park a natural feeling.
Be sure to walk or drive down to Jackson Lake, just beyond the trees of the Colter Bay park, to see the massive mountains rising over the waters of the lake. You can rent boats at the marina.
Even though there is only a central shower house for the RV park and campground, we found it to be clean and accessible. You do have to pay for showers. The laundry facilities worked well, and my sons appreciated the WiFi available there.
The park can fill quickly, so book early. Don't just drive through the Tetons, stay on site and give yourself plenty of time to soak in all of the scenery.

We absolutely love Teton NP and the Jackson area, so we were thrilled to be right in the midst of all the fun. This is a convenient location for those that want hook-ups. Though I have greatly loved boondocking outside of the park, we wanted easy access to the hiking, lakes and sites...without having to drive in and out. It is pretty compact and the sites are not big, so that is the trade-off for being in the park...and it is pricey BUT we loved it. We had extremely limited Verizon. We loved the campground feel and being able to walk over to the lake. We were surprised to find that you can not have any type of campfire in the RV park, there are some community fire pits and picnic tables under the trees between the lake and the campground though. We also loved having our kayak here as it was easy to walk it over and enter the water.

Nice pull-through spots and was easy to level and get set up. There are plenty of trees for shade and we had plenty of room to fully extend our awning as well. The Ranch House Restaurant, grocery/convenience/souvenir shop, and laundry are very close by. The bar at the Ranch House has a nice selection of local beers. Overall, this is a really nice RV park and when we come back we are going to spend a few more nights.

Colter Bay is the busiest of the campgrounds in the Tetons and fills up quickly.Overall found the sites to be on the small side and many not level at all. However the rangers were eager to help switch sites where possible if you found your site intolerable. We liked the shower and laundry facilities but found a certain older volunteer to be extremely rude and obnoxious- hopefully her attitude improved as the season progressed!!!

In general, this was a very pleasant stay. Sites are a little close, but the diagonal layout means you aren't right next to your neighbors when you are outside. Lots of trees for shade and a little privacy. Two problems. (1) Because of bears, grills and just about everything else must be packed away. However, there are no bear boxes, which means the grill has to go in your car or trailer when not being used. (2) The campground is very clean and garbage is picked up daily at about 7:30 a.m. by a very noisy garbage truck. We didn't appreciate the early wake-up.
There are full hook-ups, which we appreciated. Our next door neighbor for the stay, though, did not use the electric hook-up and instead ran their generator. One of the best things about full hook-ups is that you don't have to listen to generators and can enjoy the outdoor ambiance. So we lost out on that.
We paid for an extra night because we knew we wouldn't be out by 11 a.m. As we left, the ranger gave us a hard time about reserving it for that night and not using it. Since we paid for it, we didn't feel that was called for.
Aside from these issues, it was the best laid-out RV Park we've stayed in and there is so much to do right at the campground as well as in the surrounding National Parks. Restaurant, marina, general store, gift shop, laundry, beach, and other facilities are all in a semi circle around the campground, so when you are in the campground you wouldn't even know they were there and are not bothered by the congestion they cause.

My favorite campsite thus far on my travels, colter bay had it all. Well, except available electric hookups. Each spot has picnic table, bear box, and fire pit. You arent very far from other campsites, which means practically no privacy but its great for socializing with neighbors. You have access to water and the flush toilet bathrooms are not far.
They have a convenience store with groceries and camping gear. They had vegetarian frozen food options and a fresh vegan bakery option every day!
There is access to a couple walking trails which all have great views of the tetons. Also near the trails is a marina. you have the option to rent kayaks or canoes, which is awesome!
At&t cell service is the only thing that was lacking. I managed to get a couple bars on one of the trails by the lake, but not much. 5 miles down the road there is a lodge with full signal and wifi if you need it.
You can pay for laundry or showers here too if need be. I didnt use them however so im not sure how clean they were.
Quietness really depends on your campsite neighbors. I didnt have any problems with people being loud late at night.
Easy to find. Great access to both the grand tetons and yellowstone.

Actual stay August 25, 2017. Cost is $79.00 but we stayed for $59 with senior pass. Campsites are tight with little privacy. Nothing special. Camp store, restaurants, gas station, boat rental and visitor center are all within walking distance. Propane is available at campground. Check in was a bit disorganized.
