We pulled in at 5:30 PM in late March and only a few sites were left on a Friday night. The upper part of the loop is nicer, more private and further from the road than the lower loop. The bathroom in the upper part of the loop is no longer operational and needs to be torn down. The pads are in rough shape, very uneven and everything is a bit worn and tired. I peeked in the bathroom which looked okay, but didn't use it, so can't comment any further. I doubt if there were showers.

We stayed on Easter weekend, so there was a lot of day users there. No cell phone service, no hook ups. We dry camped and really enjoyed ourselves. Stayed at a handicapped site cause Mom was travelling with us.

It is a bit run down, but the price fits. We only stayed a single night on our way up the Parkway. I agree with the other reviewer that the upper portion is in better shape. No cell to speak of. From the campground a trail leads to the site of the old Rocky Springs ghost town (not much there but a good dog walk).

Although the sites have been recently repaved, there is much work needed at this campground. One bathroom is boarded up and the others should be boarded up as well. They were dirty, a toilet clogged and a urinal broken. The grounds around the campground needed a lot of attention and there was no water. It appears that there is a camp host but no one around and the camper was trashy, giving the campground a more run down look. Truly only a notch better than a Wal-Mart parking lot.

OK, we did stay 5 days but that was our plan (really 6 days) and we stick to our plan! Maybe. Previous reviews were pretty "spot-on" with their descriptions of the campground, bathroom(s) and the overall appeal of this place. "IF" this (alleged) camp-host was working, we never saw it. He did work on a van while we were there but I'm not sure it was his. His TT was trashy to say the least.
The visitors center at the entrance was extremely run down as well...even to the point of no TP for about 2-3 days. *(see campground host reference above)
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure this is a Federal Parkway and I would venture to guess that other reviewers would agree....the Fed needs to pony-up and fix this campground. Paving was a good start because the couple of sites they passed by were in terrible shape. An absolute plus with the paving as a good bit of the sites are large and for the most part, level. A bit of a heads up, the bigger sites are a combination of 2-3 sites. So buddy-up.
We would stay here agin because of it's place on the trace but I think we might seriously consider making the push to Jeff Busby which is our present location and this campground is in much better shape (review to come later)

Recently paved loop road and site pads although most slightly off level. Wooded area with restroom facilities but no hot water or tp. Campground host wasn't very accommodating

It was just repaved when we stayed for 3 nights in nov 2017. Can't beat the price, didn't visit the on site bathhouse. If you go up the road to the trail head for the ghost town you can get a little bit of verizon data if needed if you have a booster it's a good spot also.

We stayed here while driving the Trace. Decent 20+ miles to Vicksburg. Hubby says bathrooms, at visitor center and one that was open were clean, no hot water but toilet paper. Paved variety of large sites include picnic table, fire pot and charcoal grill. Very quiet and dark at night. Lots of bird and night animal sounds. We enjoyed some peace for a change.

I agree with all the previous reviews here and am sad to say the the bathroom situation is still the same, if not worse, as reported nearly a year ago.
One bathhouse boarded up.
The only bathhouse open has no electricity (i.e. no lights, hand dryers or ventilation fans).
The urinal is still broken in the men's room with caution tape and a black bag covering it up.
Water fountain outside of bathhouse is has now gone missing.
The sites are OK and some nearly level. Mostly back in sites but a few pull-throughs.
We visited this campground on 03/14/19.
