$40 a night is rather expensive but this is a huge double site which can easily fit 4 tents. Park Rangers are very strict so stick to their 2 cars, 4 tents rule. The park is fairly deep down a paved road and there are deer crossing all the time in the evening. The site is on soft orange sand. There are 2 picnic tables and fire grates available. There are also mature trees that you can set up tents under. The road to the campsite was 12 miles long but well paved.
We saw reviews stating there is a lot of noise from ATVs but we had zero problems- they came in around 8pm and moved out at 8am.
The camp host seemed put off that I knocked on his door at 9pm asking to buy firewood but he was very polite.
GO HERE! GO HERE! GO HERE! It's 30 minutes away from the East entrance to Zion National Park which is seriously beautiful.
One thing- this is my first experience with serious desert wildlife. We saw the endangered Utah Prairie Dog on our site as well as a Scorpion and a 3 inch long black beetle on the cement in front of the women's bathroom.
Zero cell phone or data service but who cares! There are fantastic hot water showers available- this place is the Ritz compared to other state park campgrounds. I LOVED this site and will return again and again.

Dry nice facility in a beautiful valley.
Sand dunes ate immense lots of atv riding with hundreds of trails around.
Somewhat off grid.
We had a partial hookup site with power and water. 2 Dump stations available.
Had to drive about 5 miles for cellular service xfinity mobile (Verizon)
Can get noisy with all of the atv activity, but we were part of that.

We spent Halloween here with our daughter, son-in-law and grand kids, they were in space 34 which was next to ours.. We had registered and paid on line ahead of time Check in was a breeze. The park staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. We brought our UTVs, ATVs and motorcycles, the sand dunes and trails did not disappoint! To make things even more fun, they rent Sand Boards for a reasonable fee.
The park itself was extremely clean and well cared for. Most of the other spaces were filled with large toy haulers and motorhomes from So Cal. They had a lot of kids and toys, and unlike the Imperial Dunes in CA, they all were supervised and very well behaved, Since we began camping again last year we have been very surprised with the quality and cleanliness of both the Arizona and Utah State Parks. 👍👍

By the time we were done playing in the park, the dunes were covered in snow. Because it was December, there were tons of sites available, so we opted for the security of a paved pull-through spot for our low clearance camper van. Gorgeous afternoon and morning in the snow. It was quiet here and we were able to dump and refill water. (Included in overnight fee, $10 otherwise)

We stayed for the weekend in site 8. This site fit our 22’ truck and 28’ 5th wheel with room behind to park our side by side. The sites are paved and trees are trimmed well allowing our 13’ high rig to enter without issue. Some sites are smaller for rent camping. There are trees, shrubs, sand and rocks in the “yard” portion of your site. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Some sites have a pavilion over their picnic tables.
There is a newer campground to the left as you enter the park. This park has full hook ups, but no vegetation. Just sand and gravel. The site to park it paved.
We chose the “older sites” (but not worn out or less attractive) because there was vegetation and more privacy.
There are no hook ups, but there is a place to hook up a hose between the sites. The dump station is just before you come into the campground, so it’s easy to hit it on the way out. There are two huge dumpsters there to put your trash.
They have super clean bath houses. The showers are in separate rooms with their own locking doors. There is a shower, and enough room outside the shower to hang clothes and a bench to get dressed.
Pet friendly as long as your pets are on a leash.
There are several group sites. We were concerned being in a site close to the group sites, but the groups there while we were there were extremely polite and obeyed the quiet hours of 10pm until 8am.
It’s a nice walk in the morning to the overlook to the dunes. Go early and see all the animal footprints from the animals overnight. The OHV entrance to the dunes are near the campground entrance. But the noise is not an issue, did not hear them, way off in the distance once in a while.
Would stay again!

This campground is located 22 miles west of Kanab. There are two loops. Sites 1-22 are in the original campground. The roads in this loop are on the narrower side and there are no hookups. These sites provide a bit more privacy with juniper and piñon pines. These sites may be a bit more a challenge for slide outs. Sites do have a picnic table and BBQ grill. Sites 25/night.
The newer loop (sites 23-34) has electric and water, wider roads, and minimal landscaping at sites. Sites are plenty wide and long. Picnic table, fire ring, and shelter over table at each site. We stayed in #30 and the pull through driveway was 115’. You can’t actually see the dunes from the campsite due to a berm. Sites 40/night.
Both loops have restrooms, showers, dump station, and potable water.
Zero Verizon signal at campground.

Going north on the 89, I missed the first turn-off for CPSD but later up the road was another. I took that one. The road in is adequate for my 32' Class A towing a small trailer with my ATC. There's a lot of Deer and Antelope in that area so take it slow. I counted 10 dead Deer and Antelope on the side of the road in various states of decomposition. I also saw about 10 live ones crossing the road.
I pulled into the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Campground and the young lady operating the entrance was super nice and got me into the overflow parking area for @20 per night. This is ATV Central but the campers are really good about shutting down operations at the mandatory 10PM quiet hours. Next to me were some campers that had 9 side-by-side ATVs and they all took out at about 11AM. I talked with one a bit and he was telling me the trails in the are are totally awesome so if you have an ATV ATC then this is the place to be.
I hopped on on my quad and wanted to check out some of the free sites. One was just before you get to the CPSD campground but there were patches of soft sand so get out and walk the route before you start in. There were Class A motorhomes and trailers so it's doable. Farther down the road were other camping areas but some are really sandy.
I did ride the trail into Moccasin Mountain and the sign going in clearly states, "4 Wheel Drive Required" and they definitely mean it. There are camping areas back there but the trail is narrow and sandy with a lot of Cedar tight on the sides of the trail. You will come out with plenty of scratches and probably more. There is a Dinosaur track site at the base of the mountain and you will be hiking to see those. It's well marked with signage and that surprised me as far in as I was to the mountain.
The area was worth spending a few more days exploring.
NOTE: The only cell service the area had was at the ranger station so they can process a credit card.

This campground is one of the only reservable options for the Kanab area besides some pricey RV parks. It’s about 20 minutes from Kanab, 30 minutes from Zion, and over an hour from other attractions like the Wire Pass trailhead or Cottonwood Road. There are clean restrooms with flush toilets and showers, and the dunes themselves are interesting. The noise from the ATVs didn’t bother us in #14. I recommend the loop we were in because there are trees. There was no shade on the other loop. We would definitely stay again.

We camped here at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes campground in the south loop during the first two days of May. The sites in the south loop do not have hookups, but the sites are spacious and well shaded. Water was located near the campsite, the trash container was located at the dump station. The modern restrooms and free hot showers were clean and well maintained. The south loop is a short walk to the beautiful sand dunes.

Great place to stay and enjoy the surrounding area. Super close to the dunes and trails. Our site was a pull through with 30/50 amp and water. There was a dump site as you exit. Bathrooms and showers are super clean if you choose to use. Quiet time is 10pm-7am and people respect it. Would definitely camp here again!!
