This park is only available for Escapees members, and any guests traveling with them. The rate includes a $50 a week first-timers special plus the normal daily rate of 15.50 plus electrical.

This campground consists of privately leased lots that are rented out as owners wish. There are many seasonal residents here, many of whom build casitas on their lots. Because we have a diesel motorhome, we were only allowed to stay on an empty lot, apparently because of our weight (???). Not a problem since the lots with casitas actually give you less usable space.

Because of the seasonal residents, the park offers a number of amenities including: rest rooms, showers, nice laundry room (cheap), large clubhouse, (very nice) billiard tables, exercise room, and library (books and DVD). Activities include daily happy hour (BYOB and F), weekly movie night, lunches, dinners, dancing, crafts etc. Wi-Fi is available in the clubhouse, but we didn't try it.

A welcoming committee comes over to your site and provides you with extensive information about the area. There is also a "tour" of the facility, which we didn't take as it was rained out, surely part of their marketing scheme.

There is good spacing between sites, but this is a very large park with lots of residents so you see rigs all around you. There are views of mountains in the distance, and sunsets are quite beautiful. The park is impeccable, and seasonal sites are very neat and tidy. In fact, the rules don't allow picnic shelters, and there must be some other guidelines that don't allow clutter as there wasn't any.

Everyone at the park was extremely friendly and helpful, including one gentleman who saw kayaks on our site and stopped to tell us about the two nearby lakes.

There is a fenced in leash less area for dogs, nothing to speak of. But there are a number of trails going out from the property into beautiful desert.

We don't normally partake of activities, but rather do our own thing, but would have gone to one or two happy hours had I not been sick with a cold. I'd say this place is fine for those who want to be on their own, but be prepared for some social time as you wander around the campground. And those looking for social interaction will love it!

This is a Escapee Coop Park. People are very friendly in the park. The park is on a hillside so views are good (desert) and the sites are good sized. Nice club house. There is a workshop available. Propane on site. Good walking trails just outside the park and others close by. There are activities but they do seem to be geared towards the older crowd. But wait, I guess we qualify. Good utilities and everything is very clean. We will most certainly be back. If there were shade I would rate it higher. There is free wifi in the club house.

Our first stay in a co-op park, mostly because we were intrigued to check it out. The park is super friendly and very well maintained. We really liked the diversity of each site having its own unique thing - whether eco friendly landscaping, sheds or elaborate casitas.

If you're seeking social activities, you'll have no trouble - they are non-stop in the club house.

While many in the park are much older than us, everyone was very welcoming and there are no age restrictions for visitors or RVs - which is very rare for parks like these. Long term visitors need to be over 18.

Non-Escapee's can stay for a week to check it out, stays beyond that require being a SKP.

Overall, we liked the super large leaseholder sites, the hiking trails out the back and the location. Benson has enough to offer to keep you stocked up and is close enough to many attractions if you want to keep busy. For us more introverted types, the park was perhaps a bit too welcoming - it's really hard to be outside at all without someone striking up a conversation, or inviting you to the next social event.

As other reviewers have stated this is a co-op park where the shareholders lease their sites to visitors. As Escapee members and first time visitors we got a great weekly rate of only $50 plus electricity! Our site was located near the back of the park, and had a huge gravel pad, and a casita with a cement patio.

Everything about this park is very "nice". Nice check-in staff, nice residents, nice laundry room, and nice sites. While we enjoyed our stay and would return if passing through the area, I doubt we would stay longer than a week. Benson is a pretty small town, and while there's plenty to keep you occupied if you want to get in the car and drive around, the immediate area is a bit on the dull side.

That said, the convenient location right off I-10, the cheap price, and the large sites are definite draw.

We came to the SKP Saguaro Co-Op because we wanted to visit some of the attractions in the local area like the Kartchner Caverns, Bisbee and Tombstone. We are Escapee members and enjoy the low member pricing. We qualified for a $50 special for a weeks stay because we've never been to this SKP park before. Normally, we'll only stay at a SKP park for a couple of days to catch up with laundry, receive packages and to clean up our rigs after boondocking. SKP parks have the cheapest propane rates around. This one fills on Mondays so you need to get in line at 9am. This is perfect for us as Monday is check-out day!

This is one of the nicest looking SKP parks we've been to so far. The spacious lots are really nice. Many have cute casitas put up by their lease-holders. The club house is huge compared to other SKP parks we've seen. The laundry room has plenty of washers and dryers and surprisingly cheap! The showers and bathrooms are clean as well. The park has a landscape committee so of course the landscaping around the park is very nice! Wifi is available at the clubhouse, which we didn't try out. The park wide wifi is very sluggish, mostly in the evening. We were told that they are working on updating their wifi network this month and it will soon be stronger.

Like all SKP parks the members are super nice. Everyone waves or says hello when you are out and about the park. Someone from the welcome committee came over to say hi and asked if we had any questions. She told us about the events for the week. We didn't get involved in any of the events as it's just not our thing. We would rather be out exploring on our own and not cooped up in a club house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this SKP park. This is definitely one of the best private RV parks we have stayed in. At the time of our stay, there was a $50/week plus electric promotional rate for newbies. The regular rate of $22/day or $110/week is still extremely reasonable.

The sites are two to three times as large as sites in other typical private RV campgrounds and most sites have a small accessory building with a covered patio. All the utilities worked very well. Included in the price is cable TV access which includes HD channels for the major networks. Verizon cell and data service were good enough to stream HD video. The laundry room was excellent, there is a clubhouse with a lot of things going on to keep you busy if you want to participate in their various events.

The park staff were very friendly and helpful at check in. This is a coop park which means that the sites are owned by members of the coop and the members were extremely friendly and welcoming. No one failed to waive when passing by.

The park is extremely quiet all day long (no road, highway or train noise.) The only intrusion is the sound of the train whistle about two or three miles away. At this distance, you cannot hear the trains, just the whistles, I would characterize the occasional train whistle sound as totally non-intrusive and slightly nostalgic.

This place does not accept reservations. You arrive and are assigned a spot on a first come first served basis. If they do not have a site for you upon arrival, they put you in their dry camping area where you can wait until a site opens up. We arrived in mid-March and got a great site right away. I imagine that during the months of January and February, and earlier in March, there could be a delay to get a site.

Since the campground is a short distance from I-10 (but you do not hear any highway noise) the dry camping area is a great place for an overnight when traveling cross country.

We stayed on two different occasions in March. On our first stay we dry camped for $5/night for two nights until we could move to a full-hook up site (which cost $20/night plus electricity) where we stayed for three more nights. On our second visit we just stayed overnight in the dry-camp area. Whichever way you go you'll get great value and a very pleasant sty.

The dry-camp area is close to the office and restrooms/showers. You may have to walk or drive a short distance to access the clubhouse and laundry as this is a large park. Full hook-up sites may be anywhere in the park and their availability depends on whether or not the lease-holder of any particular site is using it at the moment. We were placed in a site quite near the clubhouse which made getting an internet connection pretty easy. I do wish WiFi was more readily available throughout the park.

This park has anything an RVer might want or need - a nice clubhouse, many planned activities, a clean spacious laundry, an extensive book and DVD library, a workshop where one can borrow tools, propane sold twice a week, a dump station and air and water fill. The residents are extremely friendly and justifiably proud of their park. Everything is neat as a pin and well maintained. We enjoyed looking at all the different "casitas" that leaseholders have erected on their lots - some plain and simple and others quite elaborate.

I only have two small complaints. One is that the restrooms/showers available for people dry camping are rather dated, small and in need of some updating. They were always clean however. Secondly, in the hot desert climate, it would be really great to have a pool!

Escapees parks offer some of the best deals around and it's well worth the membership fee if you travel a lot, especially in the Southwest. We've stayed at SKP parks in Yuma, AZ, Pahrump, NV, Coarsegold, CA and Casa Grande, Az, but Saguaro in Benson is by far our favorite.

Rate does not include electricity billed at 11 cents per KWH.

Staff and residents are as nice as could be. This is a larger park with almost 300 sites. All sites are FHU. Park is clean and well maintained. Laundry facility is great - $1 wash and .75 dry.

There’s a nice club house with a library, billiards and media room.

Park is very quiet. Not too far from Tucson and other attractions.

Big kudos to the SKP Saguaro Co-op in Benson, Arizona. We over-nighted in their dry-camping for one night on our way to New Mexico this past weekend, and we couldn't have had more pleasant service.

The check-in and check-out were so simple, the dry-camping parking area is clean and quiet, and everyone we ran into while out on a walk was SOOO friendly. The dry-camping is super easy for getting in and out without a lot of fuss if you're just over-nighting, and Benson has a Walmart, Safeway, and a lot of other things if you need stocking up.

If you need a spot to overnight, I definitely recommend this one!

If you like parks then you'll love this place! The sites are all leased and then rented out to others when the leaseholder is away. The rate was $50 for a week because we hadn't stayed there before and we are Escapee members. You have to pay electricity separate but it's extremely cheap. This price for full hookups plus cable is amazing. There are quite a few attractions nearby that are worth seeing.

The wifi is so/so but cell service is decent enough to make up for it. The laundry room is nice and they have a separate machine in the tool area for pet bedding (they also have a loan-a-tool program!).

Even at the regular price, if you're in the area, this is a great place to stay if you're an Escapee member.
