Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on August 01, 2021If you want to bring your RV to Orlando and don't want to spend a fortune this is your best option. In addition to the cheap price you get lots of trees, a lake, a paved bike path, and two Disc Golf Courses. The park is also conveniently located near any kind of store you could ever want, and only a 30 minute drive to most of the Disney attractions.
Despite the large number of trees there is no privacy between sites, so try to get an exterior site so you don't feel like you're in a fish bowl. There is cheap onsite laundry, and old - but clean - showers with plenty of hot water. Overall this was a nice place to stay while we were in town for a little Disney fun.

After looking all over Orlando for a good place to stay, we came across this park. Where most parks were $30-80/night, this little city park was under $20/night. We arrive late at night (after 8pm) and the park was closed. However, since we hadn't checked in that afternoon they called us and gave us a gate code to get into the park.
This is a small park with 36 RV sites on a one-way road. All sites are back-in and a significant percentage aren't level (pitched about 2-3 degrees). In order to make our complete stay (since we booked on short notice), we had to site-jump after the first night, but the first night put us on a site that made it impossible to level the coach. However, our sites after the first night were all relatively level.
Hookups included water and electric, with no problems at all with electricity. The campground is small, but the sites aren't all right next to each other. The road curves and weaves through the trees, giving a nice separation between sites. If they wanted, they could easily add another 15 sites to this park.
The campground is also at the end of the park near Turkey lake, with easy access to all the facilities. There's a large multi-use grass area next to the campground that's used as overflow camping if necessary.
Laundry is available on-site, and wash is $1.25 and dry is $1.00/cycle. The bathrooms/showers are pretty good, though they could use a few upgrades, better lighting and deep clean (but were kept up quite well).
Tips: If you plan to book at this park, be sure to book in advance. Sites 1-6 and 26-36 are the most level, but the best views come from sites 26-36.

Update Jan 2018: We now have a 41' rig instead of our 37' rig and it was really tough getting through the campground's tight turns with trees at all the corners. Also, we've discovered that while some sites are pretty level, others are extremely sloped, we saw several class A motorhomes with their front tires more than a foot off the ground and a foot of blocks under their jacks. Pretty scary. We weren't able to get a full hookup site this time, so we used the bath houses. Showers were old, but relatively clean and very hot. There are three disc golf courses at the park. Rent discs from the office or bring your own and play for free. Also, the office accepts packages and US mail for campers.
Full hookup sites and beautiful park right in the city of Orlando! It's only about 5 miles away from Universal Parks with tons of shopping centers nearby. The park is quiet with a pool (closed when we were there), fishing pier, picnic areas, Frisbee golf, and nature trails. It is very dog friendly. All picnic areas are off-limits for pets but there are so many other areas that it isn't an issue. The sites are very shady with a fair bit of space between neighbors. The length of the sites are a bit short, we have a 37' MH and we had to park our car partly in the camping area so we didn't stick out in the road. The park does not have Wi-Fi but we had good signal with AT&T and Verizon. The roads in the park are fine but the road in the RV area is a bit narrow and winding so you do need to take it pretty slow. With all the trees and water nearby, there were a lot of mosquitoes so we did need bug repellent. Otherwise it's a fantastic place to stay. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We stayed in October 2014.

We found this campground here on Campendium. The price drastically helped our budget when taking the kids to Universal Studios and Harry Potter. As others have said, this city park is a short drive to the park.
Sites vary in how level they are. It seems like sites int he inner circle near the bath house were more level, but less private. Avoid site 12, it was very unlevel.
Bath house met our needs but was certainly not spotless. It also is was not temperature controlled, so we were dripping with sweat before we could dress after a shower.
Change machine did not work in the laundry room so come prepared.

I found this campsite through a friend. They sent me the link and it looked nice. On their website they had photos of the sites and the lake near by which was NOT fenced in. Upon arrival I noticed you have to walk to a certain path to even get down to the lake.
Pros
Close-ish to Disney
Decent restrooms
Cons
Noisy, noisy, noisy.
People leaving at all hours
Dogs barking uncontrollably at all hours
Close to highway
Sites are close to each other
No fire pits
Small sites
Hard to navigate in bigger RV

This is so affordable, fairly well kept and super close to all of the theme parks! Books up fast but we managed to get a night to check out Walt Disney. Paths around the lake for biking and running are great. Bathrooms are kind of old but they were clean. There is also a laundry and book exchange facility on the premises. Would totally have stayed longer if we could have. It only cost us $19 a night for electric and water hookup, dump station in the campground. There are some full hookup sites available, not sure of the cost but I think around $23/night. Saw lots of other airstreams parked here when we arrived. Quiet and felt safe. They lock the gates at 5pm but give you a code to get in so you can come and go as you please.

Great park. We did primitive camping.
Right in the middle of everything Orlando has to offer. Awesome disc golf courses on property.
Only downside was the noise. This park is right next to the Florida Turnpike. The RV/Camper site is a little further away from the road so you probably wont have any issues but the primitive site is much closer to the road. First night there was a cop pulling people over all night. The rest of the time was just normal traffic. Outside of the noise it's a great place to relax.

Great camping and surrounding park. We stayed here for one night for a concert at the fair grounds and it was perfect. Large shade trees surround the campground offering nice shade. The roads are narrow and have rough sections but we were in our 39 ft Class A RV but there are a lot of trees if you not comfortable in tight spaces maybe this is not for you. I love county/state parks because they are not plowed down and all asphalt. These are all back in sites. Concrete pad parking, unlevel so your jacks have to do some work. We had full hook up spot, all excellent. There is a fill up and dump station on exit. Picnic table provided. Nice bike paths along the lake and through the park. Disk golf is very popular. Pool is large, life guard, check days it is open it was only weekends (June). Lots of pavilions inside the park. Animal farm for kids. Really close to Universal.

Can’t believe the city only charges $19 for a Ltd hook up site. Full hook up is only $23! Beautiful campground, really large sites that are spread out, easy access, no noise. A great campground for a great price, and easy access to theme parks.

I have a 45' toy hauler and yes it is tight but for the price and location, it's worth it. The park has lots of trees, on-site 7 I couldn't get satellite TV. I do believe other sites could but only a few. My trailer takes up all the pad so I have to park my truck in the grass. No one has said anything about it. The people who work here are very friendly. This is a gated park which is nice and very quiet. This park is pet-friendly with clean-up bags at different locations. They have a sign posted where your dogs are not allowed.
This park is full most of the time so call in advance for your stay. They have a pool, bike trails, frisbee golf, horse stables, picnic areas, and boating and fishing.
