The family that runs this place is very friendly and personable. However, they have a lot of work to do to make this a decent place to camp.
This is essentially a day use area that allows campers to stay overnight. Flush toilets are listed, but we only saw 3 porta-potties. The map on the website is very misleading – none of the campsites are marked and it was hard to find a level place because of all the mud ruts..
We paid $35 (that's with a veterans discount) and did not have hookups. We had to move because the place they directed us to was unsatisfactory.
Only two other campers there, and a lot of quacking ducks.
If you come here, be sure to use Google maps, not Apple. And be aware that it's about 1.5 miles of very rough road to get there.

Very nice owners. Primarily a day use area and quiet at night.

Super nice owners (who live on site) greeted us upon arrival and pointed us to our spot around a popular fishing hole. The location is a mix between primitive and park with a gravel road leading back through pecan orchards. To those on Google complaining about the road, it’s not that bad, and our 32ft Class C made it just fine. It’s obviously still in development and we should all support park owners like this, who are helping the camping community have more places to stay.
After a cross country trip staying at numerous parks Hideaway Lakes was one of our top picks to return to. A great place to relax with lots of space, good people, and beautiful scenery.
