We enjoyed our stay at Cooper Lake. We LOVED the large, separated campsites. It is a beautiful campground with easy flat hike / bike trails. There was not a lot of warning about the turn on to County Road 1529, so keep your eyes pealed for the for the sign directing you to the park.
We visited nearby Paris, TX complete with it's own Eiffel Tower topped with a red cowboy hat :)

My rate was less because I have a TX State Park annual pass. The park was nearly empty when I stayed in February. Very pleasant employees in the office. All paved sites, and plenty long for big rigs. The pull-throughs looked pretty narrow, but are easily accessible. Very quiet because you’re really off the beaten path. Nice heated restrooms and showers.

Lots of trees, right next to the park playground and the park host is across the street. Parking is easy in this site as the road is a two lane. Cell service was strong enough to work with our AT&T hotspot.

This is one of the cleanest lakes in Texas I’ve seen. The state park is VERY well maintained. We stayed on the north side, Doctor’s Park. Sites were a little more secluded and spread out, which we like. Lots of trails for biking or hiking. Just overall our new favorite park in North Texas!

We had a brief visit here in early December. Chilly stay but that was expected. Easy hiking trails, a beach, great private campsites. I can imagine this place being pretty busy in season. Close to Sulpher Springs for shopping, dining, groceries, hardware, etc. I'm sure we will return someday.

This is a smaller state park with most sites with nice shade from tall, mature trees. Mostly back in cement parking but there are a few drive-thru sites. 30amp with water only.
Park has small cabins/shelters for those without a camper.
No appreciable lake views from the sites.
Campground has a nice children's playground and there is a nice swim area with a "beach".
One note: This campground can turn sort of marshy during times when strong rainstorms are likely. The sites can be muddy after significant rain, so be forewarned and prepare for cleaning up your rig!
