Nice park. They have everything from full hook up to tent sites. The markings for the sites are a bit crooked so at times it was hard to determine your site’s boundaries. The roads in the park are very narrow so be mindful of others heading at you when driving. A bit of a warning - prior to parking really check out your site for large branches, the park has allowed the trees to over grow into the sites. We tried to park and the branches were large and resting on top of our camper and scraping the sides, so we had to trim a bit before parking. The management and office staff are very friendly and very willing to help! They truly want everyone to have a fun safe time. There was a large rally there when we camped and they did their very best the keep the group separate from regular campers. The four star rating is due to their overzealous volunteer site host. They are always driving site to site and you feel like you are always being watched. It might just be us but when we camp and expect to be left alone unless there is an issue. Some Examples of the eagle eyed host: We had checked in at the office and were making way to our site, they beelined to us in their golf cart and stopped us to questioned if we checked in and read the rules. When we said yes they continues on about following the rules. We had not even made it to our site. Next day: We sorted through our front 5th wheel storage to make it travel better, and had some camping items out on our site, chairs, beach umbrellas, and camp cookers. They stopped by our site and drove right to our picnic table to tell us we could not throw things away and we better not fill the dumpsters. Keep in mind we were not throwing anything away just repacking. Another example: On the day of our check out the host came by at 8:30 am to remind us we had to be out by 12:00. Maybe it is just us but we feel we should be able to eat breakfast without having the host drive up in his golf cart 3 1/2 hours before checkout to remind us.

We stayed in the rustic campground (dry camping) since everything else was full for the weekend. We grabbed a spot on the back of the loop and had plenty of space to spread out.

No generators, and our spot was pretty shaded, but we managed all 3 days in our batteries.

There is a popular disc golf course, and the pavilion was busy all weekend with parties and large family reunions. There is also a train that runs pretty close.

Overall it was a decent weekend stay and we got caught up on a lot of chores as well as being close to church on Sunday.

We chose this campground to “hide out” during the Fourth of July weekend. There were very few RVs when we arrived mid-week but it was completely full for the weekend. There were lots of families and kids. It's a strange layout. Most sites are plenty long enough for any size rig. The sites are not clearly defined and leveling is interesting to say the least. Some sites are in the shade and some in full sun. The shaded spots could use some tree trimming. There are some so-called waterfront sites but it is a very narrow portion of the river and there are lots of trees blocking the view. We had 50 amp and water, and there is a dump on site. The WII FI worked sometimes with our extender but it was very slow. We could not get Directv satellite in our site due to trees but it appeared RVs in sunnier spots were successful. There is one washer and one dryer available. The bathrooms and showers, although utilitarian, appeared clean. It is very dusty which is made worse as most people, including some camp hosts, don't honor the speed limit. There was lots of traffic while we were there as people were using the boat ramp near the rustic camping area. Mosquitos made themselves known so bug spray was handy. It is definitely not a quiet place. There is road noise from route 2/41 despite the large number of trees. More interesting are the trains – and they run day and night. Luckily, they hold off on the whistles in the dead of night but you can feel the ground hum as they rumble by. It sounds like they are going to run right through your RV. The rustic camping is so near the tracks I don't know how they get any sleep! On the plus side, yes there is one, Escanaba has a nice bike trail that runs through town and by the lake. There is a beautiful waterfront park with a marina, kayak/paddle board rentals, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Lots of people were taking advantage of it too. We camped here in a motorhome and would not return.

Train whistles were through the night - loud! We thought we might stay a second night but won’t. Kids late at night were racing golf cart around. Drunk campers came in to set up. It was 1 am before we got to sleep. I probably would not have keyed into the smell of the paper mill but I was already annoyed with just falling to sleep and being woken multiple times.

The bathroom was clean and they did a night check.

Cost was great.

Campground was pretty, large trees and river. Sites were large in rustic area but seemed cramped in the other area. It was difficult to figure out the site boundaries.

So, we were headed for St Ignace’s Tiki RV park today but due to a rear bearing burning out (literally caught fire!) we were stranded at Bailey County Park for 6 hours and knew we wouldn’t make the reservation. So, we got it repaired to where we could drive for a bit and ended up calling here for a reservation. The person on the phone was so nice and told me which sites were side by side and also that they had a pay pole so we could just come when we could. What a blessing after a very stressful day of repairs. Sites are huge & showers & bathrooms were awesome and very clean! Some highway noise from our site (12) and we did hear a train but it was NBD to us.

Yes, Friendly Staff Clean Restroom (Used Only Once) Many Sites Are Very Large, Our Big Rig Fit Easily Into Site 57. Trees Are Too Close At Some Sites. 49 & 10 Are Also Good Options, But 10 Will Need Low Tree Limbs Cut. Other Sites Were Either Smaller Or Had Trees To Close And Low Branches. We Had 50 Amps And Water And Were Very Happy With Our Site And The Park. We Would Definitely Return! 4 Star Rating Is Only Because We Didn’t Have A Sewer Hookup. Our Rig Is Well Insulated So We Didn’t Notice The Train Noise Mentioned By Others
