Nice state park just about 3.5 miles off the interstate, quiet but it is November :-)

Great park, convenient to get to from I-40. Just a few scattered campers in mid-September. Pull through site convenient and the basic amenities— water and electric. If you can go without Wi-Fi and cable this was a relaxing stopover (especially after a couple of gravel parking lot RV parks; not knocking them, they’re convenient but this was a nice break from that). We were so happy to find this campground after a long day of driving. We arrived when it was dark and had to scout a bit before finding a place for the night, but we found a great spot. It was fun to wake up to a beautiful view. We enjoyed a walk down to the lake in the morning- very easy to access. Highly recommend this campground as a stop over or a place to relax for w couple of days!

We stayed here on our way to Texas for our winter trip and had unseasonably warm weather. The campground was very nice. We hiked on a few short trails. The arrow maker trail was very interesting but hadn't been maintained for a while so there was a tree fallen over the trail in one spot - still a nice hike though. There was a beach access trail that we took at sunset. The end of the trail looks to the west and there was a gorgeous sunset over the lake. It really isn't a beach that you would use for swimming - lots of fallen trees and very muddy. Very scenic though.

This park was perfect for a couple of days to reset. Quiet and well maintained. Our kids (15&2yrs) enjoyed the small playground, walking trail to the beach and the Sat afternoon visit from an ice cream truck! No cable and no real WiFi….. which was nice. We will be back!

Convenient to I-40 yet very quiet and pretty with just a quick walk over to the lake shore. Enjoyed our brief stay here!
Bring your levelers as the asphalt pads are less than level!

My recommendation is to take a drive through and checkout you site before putting down stakes.
Arrived on a Monday, Site was in the middle of a large church-based camping group 100-200 people (50 sites). Felt like we crashed their party. They were all pleasant enough, but our travel-trailer stood out like a sore thumb amonst all the cabin sized tents. They are here fore 10 days. Regretted having a reservation and decided to to stay planted since it was for the one night.
Sewer connection was a joke. Completely buried in the mud and dirt. dug around with my boot for a minute be decided not to dump amongst all the tent families. Power pole was shady, glade to have my power protection.
Fire pit had been moved and was propped up against some tree roots. Picnic table was very wobbly and not useable.
Stayed within our site in order to be less invasive to the community putting so did not check out any facilities.
The staff at the main office were kind but less than helpful. They might have suggested an alternate site knowing what we were walking into.

Quiet stay. Well spaced sites. Lots of trees and shade but little breeze. Short hike on trail to beach area and water front. Very clean restrooms! Easy access for our 29’ rig. 50 amp water and sewer positioned well. Fire ring, grill and picnic table, lantern pole. Very enjoyable stay though very hot stay his summer.
