Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on May 20, 2023Spent 8 days with only 3 other campers. 30$ daily, 4th day free FHU. Nice lake and saw people catching fish, little expensive park store close by. Clean park and clean bath house with hot shower. We were able to hook up to their wifi and had good Verizon. Food is available at the lodge, Fri night seafood buffet, just OK for 18$. Friendly deer every evening.

Planned on staying here for an overnight break on our way out to Colorado. Beautiful night sky with views of the Milky Way and shooting stars. Lake with a great sand beach. Went paddle boarding. Had the beach to ourselves and only a few other small fishing boats on the water. Beautiful sunset. Decided to stay again another night on our way back through Oklahoma.

I was hesitant about driving an hour and a half to a first-come-first-serve campsite on a holiday weekend. Fortunately the camp staff update the site availability each morning at 8a on Facebook. I did a drive through before settling on the last Live Oak spot. It’s conveniently located lake front and has a bathroom/shower facility nearby. The bathroom needs some work but serves it’s purpose. I was surprised to see trash left behind and of all things a VCR in the fire pit. Come on, my parents are in their 60s and haven’t had a VCR since 2002. Small dig but funny. Otherwise very friendly staff and good prices. Ranger will drive by and collect payment: cash/card/check.

This was our first time visiting Quartz Mountain and we could not believe we were in Oklahoma. The campgrounds were clean, the deer plentiful and the scenery was outstanding. The only downsides were our Verizon 5G phone had zero service (an older phone had one bar on 3G), the restrooms are just ok and the Foggy Bottom restaurant didn’t have a TV to watch the OU bowl game. We will definitely come back!

One thing about camping in Oklahoma in the summertime is you have to have air-conditioning. Unfortunately the Redbud campground had low-voltage most likely due to everyone running their air conditioner. It’s low-voltage caused our air conditioner not to cool. So we only stayed one night. Other campgrounds may not have this issue but we did not take the time to find out
There are some nice hiking trails at this state park. However the beach swimming area was rather dirty. It had numerous pieces of glass on the ground and even a few dirty baby diapers that people had left on the beach. We did see some wildlife including deer but will probably not be back due to the condition of the beach, the low voltage issue, and some of the other areas that are not well-maintained.

We made a quick stop here but want to come back for more. This park has multiple campgrounds and many different activities. There are some nice bike trails we tried out and we also did a short hike.
The bathhouse and showers were quite nice. The campsite was level and set up well.

We stopped here for one night. It is quite. We stayed at Cottonwood. When you see the large sign on the building that restrooms are closed don’t worry there is a new building. The bathrooms are clean and new they just smell. I wanted to prop the door open. If you cut thru the grass area beware of any piles and burrs, they are everywhere. Saw several 4 wheelers but we did not do any of the trails. This was just a one night.
