Overview Amity Campground is a waterfront facility on the western shore of West Point Lake, which spans parts of Alabama and Georgia. This man-made lake has 525 miles of shoreline that provide excellent opportunities for fishing, camping, boating and other recreational activities.Recreation Whether sailing or power boating, West Point Lake is a boater's paradise. There are boat ramps in 34 public recreation areas around the lake, including Amity, as well as two privately owned full-service marinas. Fishing is one of the most popular activities on the lake. A dozen creeks and more than 40 square miles of lake provide plenty of good fishing spots for the thousands of anglers who fish here regularly. The lake abounds with bass, catfish, crappie and bream. Bank fishing is excellent at many locations, including public fishing piers at Hardley Creek, Rocky Point and McGee Bridge parks. Several trails wind along the lake and through the landscape, including the Lakeside Trail, which is perfect for mountain biking. A wildlife management area of nearly 10,000 acres, located at the upper end of the lake, provides habitat for many types of wildlife.Facilities Amity Campground offers 75 reservable campsites, most of which have electric and water hookups; there are also a few tent-only, non-electric sites. Basketball and tennis courts and a playground provide additional recreation opportunities for guests.Natural Features Surrounded by rolling fields and deep forests that display outstanding fall foliage, West Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line. The campground is forested and sits on the shore overlooking the 25,900-acre lake. Nearby Attractions The lake offers 21 day-use parks. While many people visit the lake to boat and camp, the parks offer a variety of other recreation facilities including tennis courts, ball fields, basketball courts, fishing piers with fish attractors, hiking trails and picnic shelters for individuals or large groups.Charges & Cancellations Changes and Cancellations: A $10.00 service fee will apply if you change or cancel your reservation. We stayed at tent site 63. Park is very well maintained. Camp hosts were especially accommodating and helped us get a great spot without reservations on Labor day weekend. Our site was right on the waterfront with plenty of firewood available in the surrounding woods. Not all bath houses have showers but they were all well maintained. We would definitely go again!

We were in #53 lake front site with a 36ā€™ 5th wheel. There was parking right next to the site so we had plenty of space. Our site was a back in and was at a slope down to the lake. Had to drop the front about 4-5ā€ to be level. Bring good wheel chocks.

We came in late (9pm) and was glad to find the park was still pretty lively. Folks were pretty quiet and just hanging out enjoying the campfire.

Iā€™m not sure about other areas of the park, but we had excellent coverage with ATT. 40+ Mbps on the hotspot.

We were concerned about no sewer hookup, but had no trouble with the bathrooms nearby. We have stayed on West Point Lake, and it is home for us- but it still was a great camping experience. We had 2 sites because we were with family. Some of the sites had new small platforms as you step out of the trailer. Ours didnā€™t, and it was rocky and steeper than short legs can handle comfortably. We have a National Park Senior Pass and got the half off rate.

You have to pick the sites that are water frontage, or sneak through a vacant site to access the lake. If you like to show off your toys around then pick the weekends. If you like privacy pick Sundays to Wednesdays. Bring fly traps if you plan to eat outside.

Amity has very large campsites. Most are on the water(West Point Lake). The bathrooms are clean but a bit dated. Beautiful spot to camp. Love Corp of Engineers Parks. Rate was with America the a beautiful pass.

We have been here a few times before. It is usually very quiet during the week. Fills up more on weekends and holidays. Many different kinds of sites to choose from. Some open some very private. Be warned the site location onthe reservation site are often wrong. Been that way for years. Facilities need updating.

Our rate was with the America the Beautiful lifetime senior pass. We enjoyed watching the geese with their babies swimming along the shore. Quiet location and nice spacing between sites. We only stayed 1 night but plan to make a return visit with a longer stay.
