Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 13, 2022This is a hidden gem in the Colville National Forest! Right off Washington Hwy. 20. Cost currently is $6 per night, but there is a proposed increase to $15. The usual federal pass discounts apply; sites are first-come, first served, with payment by cash or check at the iron ranger.
There are 9 sites, most of which are suitable for RVs up to about 35 feet (more if you are pulling a travel trailer). We had no problem getting our 23 ft. Lance into site 6. Most sites slope away from the roadway, and side-to-side can be overcome with blocks or auto-leveling. Watch out for low stumps when maneuvering!
There are picnic tables, fire pits, a pit toilet and a hand-pump water spigot. Plenty of trees surround the sites, but morning sun worked pretty well with our roof mounted solar panels.
The Sherman Pass Tie Trail (#96) starts next to site 9 (see map in photos). It is flat and easy except for a few trees that have fallen across the walkway.
There is a very weak Verizon signal in the area, and we were able to send a text only message using our InstyConnect router with external antenna. Otherwise, you'll be off grid unless you have a satellite service or directional antenna.
