Great campground with spacious sites and clean facilities.
Secure sites with access codes for the grounds as well as the laundry and bathroom/showers.
Plus being on a military installation provided a sense of security.
Large back in site, and we’ll spaced out from your neighbors.
Friendly staff.

Access is limited to military affiliated campers. Entrance is easy through the Fort Mead main gate with plenty of room to maneuver. Check in was quick and easy. The friendly clerk had everything ready and pointed us quickly to our camp site. Site 17 is a full hookup, pull through site with level concrete pad and large concrete patio with fire ring, lantern pole and picnic table. The grounds were well kept and clean. The bath house has lockable individual rooms with toilet, sink, and shower; plenty of room to hang or place your things. Garbage dumpsters are conveniently located near bath houses. I enjoyed my stay at Fort Meade.

The good: nice sites, timely repairs when needed, quiet, shaded, don’t feel like everyone is on top of you. You can stay up to 3 months. Very clean, they don’t mow other than every 3 weeks due to “budget” but they charge a fair amount for this location. We had a electrical outlet that was fried on arrival and they actually came out and fixed it within an hour, I was impressed.

The bad: horrid starlink coverage depending on site, Verizon says it has 4-5 bars of 4g/5g but when you’re here - there is little to no service. I get most people camp to camp - but we camp to live and work in areas we want to try. If you need to work FT, this could be a problem. Front office staff is not helpful, as often happens on post. Complained about our fencing but then didn’t ever say anything to anyone else. We didn’t know it wasn’t allowed because we tried to check in on arrival and when we were there on Monday, they are only open during working hours — we stayed here due to my job so I was at the office from 8-6.
